Camacho had the best holding tactics in boxing at 130 & 135 some illegal some legal this guy was not going to get KO ,just that simple.The very first time I saw him fight was against an opponent called Louie Loy ,this fight was so funny as Macho clown the guy the whole fight hitting on the breaks and the ref could even see what he was doing because the quickness was awesome. Camacho by UD. Camacho in his prime was smooth like silk! The guy was lighting fast, and had decent power in either hand. Prime Camacho would dance circle's around Pac, and make him look ordinary. Its a fact that Manny has issue's with anyone that has good movement and good boxing fundenmentals.
Exactly. People act as if Pacquiao is beating slick fighters all the time and get hyped up when he's facing these stationary brawlers.
Camacho was better at 130 and 135 than at 140. Newbies may not know much about Camacho other than his antics in the latter portion of his career, but make no mistake, he was EXTREMELY talented. A top fighter during the mid 80s, and ranked in the p4p lists. At 130 & 135, Camacho would give Pacquiao some problems with his ridiculous speed, but a problem with Camacho was his tendency to go into a defensive shell when getting tagged hard. We saw it against El Chapo, and especially later in his career against the likes of Chavez, Trinidad, and De La Hoya when Camacho seemed happy to just last the full 12. I can't picture Pacquiao not being able to get through with some hard shots, he pretty much always does. Pacquiao has more of a fighter's mentality, while Camacho has that survival mentality when he gets hit hard. I think this will be a big difference in the fight when Pacquiao starts to land. Pacquiao by decision.
No i do not just follow Pac... but i do think that people like Camacho who talk so much **** should be criticised in the same manner. Realistically i don't believe that Camacho would win. Thats not me hating or favouring Pac, thats just my honest opinion. Pac is too strong and too skilled for him
Fair enough. But Pacquiao is NOT skillful. Beating up brawlers that stand in front of you does not show your skills, it just shows that the guy is standing there in front of Pac to be hit, nothing else. Unless Pac proves me wrong and beats a skillful fighter like Floyd, THEN I'll say Pac has skills. But Camacho can box AND move, there's a difference.
haugen ... haugen ... haugen??? two sds ... at 140 and above Pac can get him. Pac is way way way way way quicker than Chavez is. I do think that since busting on the featherweight scene Pac has only been troubled by heavy handed talented guys who were willing to brawl in rough spots (read, Marquez and Morales) and this is not a description camacho fits. Pac's offense is so different than the heavy plodding one of Tito that they are scarcely similar, I think Tito would probably have bludgeoned Margarito out of there but would have been looking all night to land against somebody like Oscar, when Pac pummelled him into the ropes ... oh, wait, tito and oscar did fight! yeah, but that was a different de la hoya. Marquez is nothing like Camacho.
