    George Foreman v Jim Jeffries.
Modern gloves, but 20rdsdistance. Prime for Prime

Does Foreman blast the Boilermaker out?
Or, does Jeff weather the storm ,and ,take George into deep water ,and drown him ,after he gasses out?

Foreman would win this within 5 rounds. Jeff was a strong guy,but George was more so.

  5. is not matter 20 rounds or 250 rounds, paper gloves or stone gloves, or 20 advantages that you want to give to jefries, foreman would stop jefries early, so the stamina is not matter here.

There is not much footage of jeffries but I have often regarded chuvalo as a poormans jim jeffries. george foreman did very well against chuvalo so maybe foreman deserves to be favored here.

However I think jeffries has a good shot also.

Foreman did knock out two elite fighters much like ingo johanson then george lost his title, had a breakdown and retired as a young man. Foreman later came back wiser but slower managing to redeem himself without ever dominating the division.

Big old jeff may have avoided jack johnson but he cleaned out the rest of his division. I think that alone goes a long way. I believe jefries was much beter than chuvalo, he must have been some kind of fighter. If jeff used lead right hands and could last the fast start it could get very tricky for green george.

I think it foolish to write someone off just because it was long ago.

I would have to say 60% jeff -no dissrespect to power house george, one of my faverite fighters-i just think everyone underestimates jim, basing him on a fight were he had to lose 100 pounds and hadnt fought in years-the real jeff would have beaten johnson

Foreman of '73 versus Jeffries of 1900 would cause me to cream in my jeans if these two mothers were pitted in a time machine...
    :admin

BUT! I too gotta go with Foreman since he is more modern and probably more durable... :huh

    NOTE:

Jeff buddy was durable, no doubt, but Foreman's ability to eat leather was insane...

    Foreman KO 6 Jeffries.... WICKED!:thumbsup

Foreman of '73 punches harder than anyone Jeff ever dealt with before in his career.

I think this would be something like the Foreman-Lyle fight - total war with no survivors!!! Totally devoid of any boxing or skills - just flat out face first slugging - Foreman to prevail but only just - knockdowns on both sides before the end around 7 or 8 rounds because if it goes any more then George is done in

Oh, I thought you meant Jeff Lynne of E.L.O....I figured Foreman would take him. I'll have to rethink this.

Though generally I love to speculate about these things, guys as far back as Jeffries are a little too hard for me to fairly assess, as the film footage of them is so poor, and our understanding of the quality of opposition is very, very limited. Boxing was different then, in terms of rules, style, overall acceptable conduct, etc, that it's hard to really judge it. I have trouble picturing Foreman losing to a ponderous white guy from way back when, but who knows...
