i hate all this "boxing is dying crap". boxing is fine. ok its not as strong in the USA as it once was but its still strong. in most other parts of the world its very strong and getting alot bigger in emerging countries like china, india and ****stan.
Hmmm... not too encouraging. Once Mayweather and Pacquiao hang it up, this list will be truly dreadful. What other boxer is capable of cracking this list as a headliner within the next 5 years? Who's the cash cow? By single event: Mayweather By year total: Lesnar
They can have 3-7. Fine by me. Maybe this year they can fill that 8th spot too. In the meantime, I'll watch the better fights for less money on ESPN, HBO and Showtime.
Collectively, the UFC owns the top 10 PPV buys. Just add all the buys together and look at the difference. Its astounding. Boxing could do better if it had the wherewithal to organize/force fighters into more competative fights. Better match ups equal more ppv buys, the UK notwithstanding. At least this list makes it clear there is still some interest in boxing. But the politics bs and fighters' phobia of any loss on their records is killing the popularity of the sport. Again boxing could do better.
