I have a terrible feeling it is.After Prunty wins this i suppose he will be looking for and Irish title shot.:nut
The Lee versus Duddy fight is up on boxrec as confirmed, any official confirmation yet? i really hope so.:happy
is Egan moving up to 91kg after the WSB is finished? If he competes well at 85kg in the WSB I'd like to see him make the jump, winning the heavyweight gold in London would be a great moment for Irish boxing and with Egan not competing at 81kg it would make it easier for McCarthy to win a meal..
Lads, I am reading the Dunne book at the minute it a good read. Can anyone explain why Peters was in his corner for most fights. It is something i could never understand and find it even harder to understand now after reading they did not get on to well and Dunne said himself that Peters knows nothing about boxing
€€€€€££££££$$$$$$$ He stumps up the cash to finance a show/career he can certainly pull on a Team Dunne t-shirt and stand in the corner or the ring after fights if he wants. Money talks and that's the bottom line. Dunne could hardly tell him he wasn't allowed now could he!
He is in a corner as a seconds assistant (towel, spit bucket, stool, water), he doesn't actually give any technical advice, although I am sure there are words of encouragement. He does the same for Macklin. It's pretty common for a manager to be in a fighters corner, although at the lower levels, as it is one less mouth to feed.
He was at Carls fights. He works ringside marking cards to see if the match the refs! think he might consider becoming a ref! I was talking to him, but was way more interested in his career. great story he said it was a blood bath with Morales. he then wanted to fight Wayne but didnt get made!
