What if Tua and Tyson switched eras?

  1. (tyson did his pro debut in 1985)

well, tyson was more skilled, he was faster, he got better combinations, TUA was not as explosive as tyson, tyson was more muscular, but tua was stronger, he had a bigger structure of bones, he had heavier hands, he had by far better chin. And i can not see tokio douglas, madrid douglas or new york douglas stopping david tua. Tua would ko bruno, and he would tko ruddock, green would run during all the fight to survive but tua would win by ud.he would beat a shot holmes 88.(holmes was much better in 1992 because he was trained, old but trained), michael spinks would have the same destiny than michael moorer against tua.evander would beat tua by decision in 1996 but it would be more competent, evander might not stop tua never. Tua would destroy berbick(drunk moment included). HE WOULD BEAT SMITH BY UD.Not as spectacular against some rivals but more effective-

  2. marciano would fight in the cruiser in this era.... But rockysplit will tell you that rocky would beat foreman ,holyfield , superman and tyson in the same night...

He would have been outboxed by a good amount of Tysons opponents, who were leagues ahead of the slow plodders of the 90's, who still had little trouble extending Tua deep before getting stopped.

    Except his own.

He would have lost to Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs, Tony Tucker and potentially Buster Douglas. Assuming he faced the versions that Tyson faced.

Ruddock and Tyrell Biggs would have been a toss up. Tua lacks Tyson's hand speed and technical ability.

He may have picked up a fluke loss early on against Ribalta who showed that he could handle power.

I could see him beating the other guys though.

Tyson with Tua's opponents would have mauled through them with the exception of Lennox Lewis. A young Tyson beats a 2000 Lennox, but either way its never an easy fight unless he catches him pretty early. Ibeabuchi would have also been a tough fight but it would have been similar to the Ruddock fights back and forth action with Tyson winning a hard fought decision.

Oh man, you guys are killing me today.

Tua would beat a couple prospects, lose to some,..get really fat, never win a title, probably let Spinks and Holmes out box him, occassionaly get in shape, KO a wash up here and there, get lucky draws, beat up by gate keepers, and not do much. ***** about contracts. End of thread.

To be honest with you, Tua's style is much more similar to Marciano's than to Tysons. He is the second coming of Marciano that never happened, because he did not have the work ethic or a suitable trainer, to realize his potential.

In answer to the real question, Rocky Marciano would have done prety well in Tysons era, up to the point where Tyson hit the wall. There were a lot of good fighters but they were the kind that he would have found a way to beat.

I think Tua would drop decisions to Holmes, Tillis, Spinks, Williams, Biggs, Tucker, Ferguson...that's off the top of my head. He'd beat the likes of Marvis Frazier. Don't think he'd do all that well tbh.

    What a load of crap
Lennox Lewis hit Tua with a right in the first round which cause Tua to hide in his shell for the rest of the fight. Tyson was fighting with Lewis until he could take no more. an old Tyson did better against Lewis than a prime Tua. At least Tyson actually tried (and won a round)

Tyson would beat the living **** out of both Klitschkos, if you want me to elaborate on that i am more than willing.

Tua would stop any of the guys Tyson lost to?

    TUA....STOPPING HOLYFIELD?
Douglas would box Tuas ears off, Tua was a poor mans Mike Tyson.

Tuas name should never be mentioned with Tysons

Tua and Tyson have one mutual opponent (I think) Lennox Lewis
compare the 2 fights and come back and tell me who did much better, a prime Tua or an old Tyson

Tua has a punchers chance against Tysons opponent, yes i know Tua can end a fight with one punch. But If Tyson couldnt knock out Green, Bruno, Ruddock, Holmes, Tucker, Biggs, Smith, Berbick, Douglas, Holyfield with one punch, how the **** is Tua going to do it?

  10. it prove nothing... ingo johanson stopped eddie machen in 1 round and liston could not ko machen.... every fight is different..
no even in dreams buster douglas might stop david tua. i think that a clean shot from tua might well ko ruddock,biggs,berbick,green... but evander not. i am not sure on is tyson was harder puncher than tua... he was better overall, but tua was stronger it for sure, this guy had giant bones, and he had better chin. tyson was more skilled, more ripped, he was faster, more explosive,he got better combinations, but like i said, a single shot from tua might ko almost anyone. and i am not sure about if tyson would beat vitali, honestly i doubt it.

As i said before, if Mike Tyson, with his rapid fire nuclear powered combinations did knock KO the above named, how is Tua going to do it? Tua doesnt have the defence of Tyson, hed get taken to school and easily too

Tyson should have fought Chris Byrd when he held the IBF title, I always liked that matchup for Tyson. Tyson still had pretty good handspeed so it would have been a good fight for him in my opinion.

Tuanator would have a tough time with Tucker, Tillis and that version of Douglas... but beats everyone else from '84-'90.

  15. Ruddock bruno and spinks would beat him even the old larry that fought tyson schools that chump
