"Good night Irene" is an oldie but a goodie but not one of Schiavello's originals. I enjoy The Voice's commentary as well. I like the "more hooks than a pirate convention" line he always uses.
He's good but I noticed he says the same things over again such as "he's got more combos than a McDonald's menu." I love it when he says the big kaboosh
He could say that as many times as he wanted in my eyes, that would get a high five and a chuckle everytime.
I think he's absolutely dreadful. Cant stand him. He's one liners are painful to listen to and he loves the sound of his own voice. Plus i dont like his subtle racist gibes which seem to be the norm for Australians.
MMA has had quite a few good expert commentators(Bas and Rogan most obviously) but Schiavello is the only main commentator who reaches the standard I'd expect from mainstream sports coverage.
You got any examples of them? I think it'd be strange for someone with such a hard on for Overeem and Badr Hari to be racist.
Naw... he makes racist comments and is generally a dick! I have no time for him at all. I'd rather Mauro than him and that is saying something! Lynchburg
I think he is a good commentator, but not really any better than rogan. Scurla (or Lynchburg), I am curious because I haven't noticed them, can you give examples of some of Schiavello's racist comments?
I can't at the moment because i am at work. I'm sure there are a few in the Remy fight off the top of my head. He is not that subtle with it really... if it was in the UK he would be off the tele for sure. Lynchburg
I remember people being offended when he referred to Sagatpetch as a "dirty little Thai." It wasn't racist, though. He was fighting dirty, he is little, and he is from Thailand.
schiavello racist???? **** off you idiots seriously... jokes aside hes one of the most culturally respectful people youll ever find..
He only became a fan of Overeem recently. Not too long ago he was giving it to the Reem hoping Hari would KO him. Anyway he's always saying odd little jibes about "slanty eyed Asians" when he comes up with his shitty anecdotes. Its not racism per se but more that subtle ignorance that most Australians seem to have. Its just seems the norm for them from what i can tell.
So he went from rooting for a non-white (Arab) fighter to beat another non-white fighter and then switched allegiance to root for the second non-white fighter? Yeah. You've really made your case there. He's a regular cross-burner. Those odd little jibes are neither racism nor ignorance. It's an irreverent sense of humor. He clearly has the utmost respect for the Japanese people (and Korean) if you actually listen to him. Jokes are jokes. You seriously need to relax.
