Steward may well have the connections to get Lee a title shot if he beats Duddy. If It's true that Duddy could get a crack at the title thats brillant and is just the motivation John needs. Either way I hope the winner wins well and does improve their chances. I don't have any idea what kind of money Foxwoods are giving for hosting such an event but would selling out MSG not surpass that. I think not just the New York Irish but a respectable travelling Irish contengent would make the trip for this. Time is ticking but I would love to see John go to the Wild Card gym under Roach in preparation for this fight, feel he needs something to get him back on track. Wish both lads well and hope winner does go on to take the world title. Perhaps a first defence could be givving the losser a rematch. Sentimentality has no place in the pain game so it's just as well I'm not involved but feel this is both a win win and a lose lose.
Saw photo's of him, he didn't look in great shape and going by the reports that I read, he seemed to gas a bit. I must admit that I never saw the fight so I'm only basing my thoughts on that... However, it was only Dolgovs he was up against and I wouldn't have expected Ward to have lost. His target is to be Irish heavyweight champ by the end of 2011, apparently. Saw Dolgovs vs David Hanna and it was 4 horrible, horrible rounds. Mostly wrestling, with one decent punch thrown which put Hanna down. We haven't seen Hanna again, yet....
Boxrec have Proksa fighting for EU middleweight title on McCloskey undercard. How good can this guy be? Didn't see him fight in Magherafelt and he has no names on his record, but seems to have been highly thought of for a while now http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=301164&cat=boxer
IRELAND ACE McCARTHY SET FOR MILAN DEAL http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/ireland-ace-mccarthy-set-for-milan-deal-2494423.html WICKLOW BOXING LANDS FIVE AWARDS http://www.wicklowpeople.ie/premium/sport/other-sports/wicklow-boxing-lands-five-awards-2493688.html McCarthy's Milan decision means he won't be defending his Ulster title this year, and sadly Tommy is one of many high profile causalities in these championships. The tournament begins next week and finishes February 3rd in the Ulster Hall.
Egans fight in the WSB is off his opponent is injured(on the main page),i wonder does this mean Miami get the points or how does it work? Joyces opponent came in 2 pounds heavier will that have a big impact if he starved to make weight then he could be 6 or 7 pounds heavier than John on fight night and john is only off the plane remember.Would love to see him do well. Mc Carthy and O Kane in milan jesus the irish lads are really in demand in the WSB.Someone like Peters should have started his own stable... The Irish Gobshites has a good ring to it.:yep

Yea theyll be at the nationals, as for you question, i was picked at the very start of the draft for the WSB with 40,000 to sign it but refused as bantamweight is a bit much especially against the best in the world, moneys no good when your getting sparked out every week
