One of the worst match ups for brock lesnar at the moment!

No, I believe Lesnars chances are far too low.

I dont think he has a reasonable chance.

No, JDS will be able to avoid the takedown and punch his way to an easy paycheck. Then Lesnar can go back to selling his book. :happy

No. JDS is the worst possible style match-up for Brock, as he is an even better boxer than Velasquez. Lesnar's only shot is to get takedowns and dominate on the ground, but I just can't see that happening. JDS's TD defence looks excellent, and he has the Nogueiras to train his ground game. This fight may be even shorter and more devastating than Cain-Brock was.

He has a chance in that JDS's wrestling and BJJ have not really been tested that much, if they turn out to be good then no I don't think he has much chance.

In addition to his inability to keep a cool head I think the fight with Cain also showed that Brocks cardio is a big issue aswell. Much was made of JDS slowing down vs Nelson but that was after delivering what would have been fight ending punishment 95% of the time(and certainly would be vs Brock) and even then he wasnt totally gassed. Brock was sucking wind after a couple of mins vs Cain and if you remember back he looked tired agenst Randy before the KO aswell. The only time he's gone to a decision was vs Herring and that wasnt much of a test, the takedowns came easy and Heath didnt do much to try and escape.

You can be in the best shape in the world but lots of muscle + sloppy technique = gassed

    :thumbsup:thumbsup

brock on the other hand has proven he is a one trick pony, yeah he got the arm triangle but carwin didnt do much to defend it either.

JDS will know exaclaly what to do to defend lesnar, and his strength is lesnars main weakness - it doesnt work the other way.

This is almost a gimme for Jds, and should increase his popularity and build hype for his upcoming showdown with cain.

Imagine being a young kid coming up through the ranks. You get your big break on TUF. You look forward to weeks of intensive training from the best, most experienced guys in the business. You turn up on the first day and find out your coach is Brock Lesnar, a guy who trains on his own in a barn surrounded by yes men and hasn't even had 10 fights.

    Bummer.

I wouldnt go that far but I have a hard time seeing Brock finishing him, Lesnar's top game is greatly overated IMHO and has only put away a can, Mir(who turtled yet again) and a totally gassed Carwin.

We saw JDS take some good shots from Nelson and training with Nog I have a hard time seeing him fold on the ground. Even if Lesnar does get the takedown fairly easly and is able to control him I think he's going to need to hold on for a decision agenst an opponant who'll test his cardio.

you wouldnt call lesnar a one trick pony, or you dont think that JDS's strength is a particular weakness of lesnars or was it something else I wrote?

That its a gimme fight, while they've looked decent from what little we've seen but JDS's wrestling and BJJ havent really been tested much yet.

I'd say this fight is the UFC acknowleging Brock's weaknesses, if they put him in with someone like Nelson theres a good chance he loses and that would be a disaster. By keeping him agenst quality competision they can do the same as agenst Cain, if Brock gets his ass kicked its going to be down to JDS's godlike abilties not him failing to live up to their hype.

if brock loses this fight his badass image will be gone for good no matter who he fights, his marketability is gone. Either he leaves the ufc or his contract will be renegotiated with a severe pay cut.

I personally dont see brock lesnar having a chance to win against JDS, I guess your opinion of lesnar is higher than mine, which isnt saying much at all.

as far as dos santos ground skills being tested, I just dont see lesnar being the one to do it.

    Er no.

You look at the fact you're going to get face time with the biggest star in the sport on one of the most watched seasons of all time and smile at what this could potentially do for your career.

Honestly the way some people were talking about Brock on TUF you'd think they were talking about the olympics instead of a REALITY GAMESHOW

He obviously has a chance because if he puts JDS on his back then he could win. JDS hasn't really fought a wrestler that size.
