I dont know how to pick out certain statements and show them in a post as my computer literacy is basic.

Go back and read all the pages where you talk about both groups and you'll see what i mean

As for wearing shaded glasses, are you familiar with the word 'irony'?

As i said to Alexvoce in another thread, we get it, you dont like the guy. Thats your perogative, but is there any chance of changing the record? 99% of your posts in one way or another, refer to your obvious dislike of Ali. It really is blatant and tiresome getting. If hes not racist, hes a hypocrite, he gets beaten by journeymen in the gym, he doesnt keep his word, he refuses to pay people, he takes part in fixed fights, his quotes get fed to him, judges mow his lawn/gift him decisions, need i go on????

if a martian came to earth, somehow came onto ESB, and wanted to know about boxers and fighters, and he read your posts, he would think Ali was a balloon.

    Peace man:rasta

    99%,
Most of my posts are about Sonny Liston.
I also started ones on Jeff Merritt, Leotis Martin, Joe Frazier
    Nothing is made up,,,,,,,

It has nothing to do with like or not like.
It just another view from a different angle.

Well, I think on April 18, 1960, one 18 year-old Cassius Clay 'registered' for the Military Draft with the Selective Service Board in Louisville, Kentucky.

Now if Cassius Clay did not want to register, to put it mildy,
'he ain't be going to no Olympics as a U.S.A. Boxing Representative'.

Soon after turning Professional, the LSG Team took over, and obviously had influence with the Local Board.

On March 29, 1962, Mr. Cassius Clay was classified 1-A, but under the
management of the Louisville Group, he wouldn't be going anywhere.

Way too open ended of a situation to make the bold claim that we would have never heard of him, valid.

I thought they started doing major drafting in 65. He was already "with" the noi at the time. He was already champion. He would not have went

Even if he somehow did go, we still would have heard of him alright.

I didn't mean to say, we would have never heard of him, in the literal sense.

Bill Faversham had alot of pull, and while he was calling the shots, nothing was going to happen to Cassius Clay.

Too many 'posters' are getting upset, and think I have some kind of agenda.
It's just factual information, thats all, history.

Muhammad Ali, is an 'icon', and was a great boxer and showman, and took the sport of boxing to levels
no one would ever believe in their wildest dreams.
A true 'American Star' and idolized all over the World.

Reporters only print facts too, but they can implement all sorts of bias just by word choice, and context. People listen to reporters and will believe them, because the reporters have the facts. So within those facts the reporters, if they chose, can embed their own agenda/bias within the report. Which is what you have been doing throughout this entire thread.

You might just be someone who prefers to see a 95% full glass, as 5% empty. It is what it is

I can't believe all the hate Ali gets even after all these years. It's bizarre and a little sad.

I think it's sad that so many people here aren't interested in some of these gems of historical facts and details that IL Duce has been providing, and far too sensitive to whether or not he has an "agenda".

Some of you just seem to want a shallow discussion on boxing history, and show no interest in the primary source info, much of it of which is new to this forum.

OK. Let's just watch "When We Were Kings" for the umpteenth time, and repeat something Ferdie Pacheco likes to say.

    Mr. UN,

    Good Morning,,,,,

The hate that was developed, was brought on by Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali by himself.

What bothered him, was that Floyd Patterson was extremely popular and just a good overall guy,
and liked by the 'whole' country.
And that bothered Muhammad Ali, and he just flat out wanted to destroy Floyd in the eyes of the public.

Not true UN. I have read practically all Il Duce's posts and whilst hes provided a lot of interesting info that i'd maybe never heard before, he has to go and spoil all his good input by adding some blatant agenda-driven claim, which, IMO, spoils an otherwise perfectly good post, and as a result i have to think twice about them as its hard to take serious after a while.

And that doesnt just go for Ali. It could be any fighter. If i feel a guy is going out of his way to directly or indirectly shoot another guy down constantly, then im going to question his motives as well as the validity his future claims.

I'll give Il Duce his fair dues, hes always come back to defend his views in an articulate manner, whether hes right or wrong (mostly wrong IMO:D) but at least he has a go, unlike that other guy who just spews bile

Yes J ,Ali always defended his views...So does everyone who get's caught.
He was a braggart, refused to serve his country, and pay the consequences
with grace, tormented his decent opponents, whilst under the protection
of the Muslim Mafia, etc. But I suppose NOBODY's PERFECT...
