Cuban amateur star Mike Perez who is based in Ireland starched Jason Barnett in a round.
Mark De Mori even stopped this guy.

Not a good opponent at all for Leapai...tho i doubt he had any money to fork out a better opponent, as Khoder promoted undercards dont have any effort put into them.

Another reason to not purchase this card.

You've been owned repeatedly lately Ash - this thread being a prime example.

Your credibility, what's left of it, needs a holiday mate.

Has there ever been a worse PPV card?

It's not a bad opponent to start the year off from Leapai's point of view. Just a keep busy fight after having his training hampered by what's going on up here in QLD.

It took DeMori 7 rounds to beat Barnett, we will see what happens. He's been in there with a few decent names. Barnett is actually quite confident of beating Leapai when I last spoke to him.

Have you ever heard someone say they are less than 'quite confident' going into a bout Ippy?

Evans Quinn stopped the guy in 4 minutes flat - I'm with BCN - the smart money's on a very early night for Alex.

I've heard some very pensive fighters who ummm and arrr about taking a bout. Barnett jumped at it, saying he's been offered fights with Solomon and Cronje before, only to have them pull out. We'll see what happens. It'll be fun while it lasts, they won't have to go looking for each other. Would I buy the card on the back of it? Nope.

In relation to Evans, if there's one thing he can do when fit, it's crack.

It's certainly the hope of the card, and as you said, should be fun while it lasts.

:thumbsup abit of a downer leapai stranded in gatton - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/weight-row-over-stuffed-rabbit-dave-taylor/story-e6frfgbo-1225986548995

"SONNY Bill Williams didn't exactly endear himself to the Australian sporting public when he walked out on the Bulldogs.

Yet say what you like about his exodus, but we can't fault SBW's altruistic nature when it comes to the Queensland flood victims.

With his chief sparring partner Alex Leapai stranded in Gatton, SBW has donated 200 tickets to his January 29 fight to flood victims."

I'm with you with me on this one mate.:good

A get busy fight means one outcome......with the bombs Lepai lands the smart move for Barnett is to arrive in his corner minus costly expenses like a spit bucket holder (unless Ash is available for shits and giggles), cuts man and the other bloke who importantly will be in his ear at the end of the 1st telling him to "go back out there and move away from his right".
Barnett could walk away from this fight with a tidy little pay packet if he can either get a lift to the venue or find free parking.

Funny you should mention arriving light on for gear - if you have a look at Barnett's second fight, he lost because his mouth-guard broke and they didn't have a spare.

    ...sad but true.

yeah josey he's a hero mate & remembered as a hero.......we were lucky we weren't affected by it were just 10mins away from where the flood hit in Rocklea & 20mins away from Brisbane City....donating & volunteering is the best we can do to help out our fellow QLDers......i know with the perparation with team LIONHEART but we never doubt alex he'll come firing & with the QLD floods it's giving him more hunger mate & Jason Barnett is going to feel the full brunt of it.cheers
