    well.

    david haye
    6´3 210 pounds
    ron lyle
    6´3 220 pounds

    2 big punchers.
lyle faced much better rivals,he dropped foreman twice, he did beat bonavena, goyo peralta, jimmy ellis, earnie shavers.
haye at hw did beat valuev and john ruiz(very old ruiz).
lyle did show more heart, he was stronger(probably with modern advantages lyle would have weighed around 235-240 pounds).anyway he was a bigger guy.
he did show very good chin, he took shots from foreman and shavers, both much harder punchers than haye. maybe they both would be dropped, but i have no doubt, lyle would win this fight by knock out, maybe in 4 rounds. what do you think?

This is a fascinating match-up, and I lean towards Lyle by knockout. I'm basing my claim on Lyle's demonstrated boxing abilities, including his capacity to bounce on his toes, jab, and counterpunch. These tactics would keep Lyle in the fight long enough to eventually catch Haye with a mind-numbing powerpunch.

I emphasize that we're talking about the 1974-76 Lyle here. After the Foreman fight, Lyle lost his edge, possibly due to accumulated ring punishment and advancing age. The Lyle of the 1977-80 period would not have beaten Haye. That Lyle would have been a plodding slugger who would be vulnerable to Haye's lightning quick combinations and one punch kayo power.

But again, as long as the prime Lyle could use his boxing ability to keep Haye from potshotting him, Lyle would prevail. The fight would probably end somewhere between the seventh and ninth rounds, with Haye dominating the early rounds only to be hurt, floored and kayoed by Lyle later.

    Lyle by KO.

Haye hasn't really shown me much to be honest.

Lyle is clearly the more proven fighter.

Lyle was natural, Faye is on GH and steroids. Even with his drugs Faye would be Ko'd early by Lyle.

This one wouldn't go 2 full rounds. Lyle destroys him. Ron Lyle was real..Haye is a phony.

Haye accuses Lyle of ducking and opts to fight Bugner, whom he defeats by boring decision.
