tony bellew has a suspect chin down on his arse by a 8-1 fighter with 2 ko's dropped twice by another fighter not known as a heavy hitter, i'm not impressed, hes a slow fisted plodder and if he had half a mind he should keep his head down and stay out of cleverly. tony bellew at his peak 29 years old hes not going to get much better imho,

Poor stoppage to a great fight.

Bellew has the chance to silence the critics while picking up an important belt.

How many light-heavys in the country would have took that second shot from McKenzie and bounced straight back on to their feet? Suspect chin? bollocks.

Sergio Martinez has been dropped in 2 of his last 3 fights. I suppose his chin is suspect too right?

    ask yourself this
how many fighters would have been down in the first place against an 18-10 journeyman with less then a 50% knockout percentage just the glass jawed type imho

lol martinez was down only once against williams and that was a flash kd against a legit worldclass fighter not some domestic level non puncher check your facts

It's pretty obvious McKenzie is a decent puncher though. I think his lack of success could be attributed to what we saw in the second half of this particular fight. His stamina is not good enough, he loses focus and direction in a fight. For 2 or 3 rounds he's certainly dangerous.

Bellew will know that this time though, he'll know where the shots come from and how to subdue McKenzie without incident.

Ovill McKenzie isn't a journeyman. Do you actually watch fights or do you just look at records on boxrec? What does it matter if McKenzie's KO% is lower when he's landing a huge shot that Bellew doesn't see coming?

And as for Martinez not being down 2 times in his last 3 fights... I'm guessing you looked on Martinez's record for that nugget of information as it doesn't have his knockdown from Pavlik on there.

You mean the McKenzie who has stopped and dropped cruiserweights, stopped Billy Boyle with one shot in under a round, the only man so far to have floored Bob Ajisafe in the pros, dropped Peter Haymer 3 times and stopped him faster than anyone else and, most impressively, one of just 3 men to have stopped Paul Bonson in 134 fights?

flash knockdowns against world class hitters vs heavy knockdowns against journeyman considered non punchers, who the hell is mckenzie in relation to williams hes a nobody and he nearly ended bellews career

I'm not into comparing myself to legends and I couldn't dream of carrying the great Felix Trinidad's jockstrap but I've studied his career and he is on the floor an awful lot but 90% of the time he gets up to win, you should remember (ironsense) that it is not about how you start it is about how you finish!! You call McKenzie a journeyman yet he's beaten former British, commonwealth and European champions, he has dropped a former world title challenger at cruiserweight and knocked out Billy Boyle faster than Clev and co.. McKenzie is a good fighter who hasn't always had a fair deal!!

Ovill is getting every chance here and the former commonwealth champion is highly avoided!! If he's a journeyman then why don't prospects face him?? And why did he almost stop everyone in a Cruiserweight prizefighter?? I think your clueless if I'm being honest mate but hey who cares what you or I think... ;)

Bellew just likes to lure opponents into a false sense of security by going down from tit punches and flash knock dows so they do not expect his late fight rugby tackles out of nowhere.

Good foght by the way. Both men need it and I am sure it will be entertaining which is great for the fans.
