    Round 1

Valadez pressures and throws some hard left hooks and right hands that each move Garcia. Valadez takes about a minute to really warm up and then starts just nailing Garcia under heavy fire. Garcia, conversely shies up after having tossed a few bombs Valadez's way in the first minutes and is forced to go totally defensive by the quickening outbursts. Valadez's huge edge in power is obvious. Garcia's face already appears to be cut up (it could be scar tissue). Valadez patiently maneuvers around and rips Garcia with a couple of hard hooks to end the round.

    10-9 Valadez...almost 10-8 if he'd been busier.

    Round 2

Valadez jabs low. Garcia keeps a tight guard and flicks out a 1-2. Valadez hops to his left, then jogs to his right...looking very loose and relaxed. Garcia is walked to the ropes and hides from another volley. Valadez lures Garcia in by boxing off the back foot now, catching his prey with hard right hands to the face and left hooks to the body. Garcia obliges by trotting across the ring after him and just gets hit whenever Valadez throws. Garcia takes advantage of lulls by throwing jabs to the body but gets a bit too close and is rocked by a left hook from Valadez, who then hops on his toes all the way across the ring...toying with Garcia now and dragging this out. Valadez blocks a 1-2 while hopping back. Valadez steps in with a quick combo and then blocks a Garcia flurry.

    20-18 Valadez

    Round 3

Garcia walks into a hook...then another. He's got a mouse on his left cheek and blood pouring down the right side of his face. Valadez is criss-crossing the space in front of him with quick shots, creating a mesh of leather that Garcia just steps into repeatedly. The referee pauses to have a doctor check Garcia out. His face looks horrendous. They let it go on. Hard overhand right from Garcia misses. He's gushing. Valadez claps his gloves together and looks for an opening to get this over with. He hooks Garcia in the face and keeps applying the pressure as a now-motivated Garcia runs along the ropes. Valadez cuts the ring off and gets Garcia into a corner and nails him with a hard right hand. Garcia falls back into the ropes and surges back to make a counter attack but the referee intercepts him and calls it off.

That is the second stoppage victory for the twenty year old Valadez in 6 pro fights (all of which have been in the last eight months and up until now all took place on Golden Boy's Fight Night Club cards in LA).

He's looked OK the couple of times I've seen him, but takes too much time off during rounds.

Aw, man. Bastie Samir was on the card, but didn't get any screen time.

He's a fun prospect, and would almost certainly have been far more entertaining than those last two fights...but he isn't Hispanic (Ghanaian), so he gets lower TV priority. Sad but true.
