Barrera- In his first fight MAB was on a 4 or 5 winning streak including wins over morales, Tapia and Kev Kelley. So yes MAB was in the prime of his career. (1)

Marquez. Both fights against Marquez were meeting a guy at his best. Should he have got away with a loss to his name.. IMO No.. but that's boxing. (2)

Morales. I feel the first fight was ERik's last hurrah.. Morales had always been great at nullifying southpaws and he used his ring smarts to beat manny desipte him being on the way out. The second was after Erik had been up to 135 and lost to Raheem.. he looked rubbish in that and then had to comeback down a weight to fight manny again.. was never gonna win against a younger, hungrier fighter this time. Third fight = joke. So yes he did FACE morales near his peak.. but NO he did NOT BEAT HIM. (3)

De La Hoya. Oscar absolutely killed himself to get to 145.. IMO he would off been stopped by a punchbag that night. Horrible spectacle.. So no.

Hatton. Ricky peaked at Tszyu!!! Looked horrible against collazo, urango. Floyd could of had him about of there far earlier but he was boxing hattons reputation and not the man until he realised the gulf in class. So no.

Cotto- This is the debatable one. I feel Cotto has been badly affected by that Margarito fight. He hasnt looked very good since... he was fortunate in the Clottey fight and didnt seem to come in with any confidence to dictate proceedings against Pac. Credit to manny though this was a great performance. I'm saying NO.. miguel was not at his peak.. but I imagine many will feel differently.

Margarito- I'll put him in.. but never rated him.. never will. Easy nights work for any world class boxer with speed and ringsmarts providing he has all the correct padding in his gloves. So NO.

Mosley. Hasnt happened yet.. but is finished at that level.

So fighting greats (future Hof'ers) at their peak mannys record is-

    W-2
    L-1
    D-1

And one of the wins is highly debatable

you had me at "hatton peaked at tszyu"

kostya was only about 35 and hadn't fought for ages before the mitchell demolition.

all you're doing is trying to convince yourself that pac doesn't deserve his reputation - you idiot.

Point still stands despite KT's age. Apart from Malignaggi who hatton was able to walk through and Castillo who was pretty shot as it turns out he hasnt looked good in any fight post Tszyu.

This is on the back of the Manny vs Leonard thread.. I was just rtying to think of what fighters Pacquiao actually faced that were actually in the prime of their careers.

    It's fine to disagree m8

so how can you say that hatton was at his peak against tszyu?
how many frank warren fighters ever reach their peak and get a defining fight when he's calling the shots?

especially one who went on earn himself a date with the two best fighters on the planet.

are you joking? Hatton was a walking KO waiting to happen anytime he got in the ring with the creme de la creme of the sport. Floyd showed this.

Hattons tactics of blocking punches with his face was sooner or later gonna catch up with him.
