Has a Heavyweight Fighter, Has there ever been a fighter involved in more 'so-called' controversies than Muhammad Ali,,,,, That list,,,,will never be broken
Conteh, theres about 4 threads were myself and il duce have exchanged our views, all involve Ali, and as an Ali fan who disagrees with what hes infering, why wouldnt i reply? How to **** is that trolling? Ive neither the time nor the inclination to do such a thing. Im surprised yourself saying that about me
when was the last time you watched the fight and tell me your honest scoring (if indeed you did) I am a fan of Ali but im not one of the blinkered ones you have referred to. As i posted earlier in the thread, i had Ali winning but not by much, now even allowing for a few rounds that were tight i still cant see the 'robbery' being claimed. I am entitled to my opinion arent i?
JM36,,,,,,,,This thread went from fun., to,,,,,,I don't know what. Though I do have to say, Arthur Mercante and 2 judges at ringside scored the fight for Ali,, And the 3 fight announcers scored it solidly for Norton, with Wayne MaGee scoring the fight a Draw. Dick Young, got each fighters scorecard at the end of each round. Not re-adjusted, much like what Larry Merchant does at the end of the fight.
I agree Il Duce. It seems a frank exchange of views and opinions between people now gets classed as trolling. Everyone has their opinions on things, its what makes the forum interesting and fresh, and if you can find out something you didnt previously know, its a bonus
On the 15th Round. You can watch it 10 times, and still come away with guessing who won it. 'We got something in the grill of the car, not the foot,,,,,, the hoof',,,,,,,,"Goodfella's"
As much as I'm a fan of Ali,I get annoyed when some people say how GOOD he was in the second Spinks fight. Muhammad was terrible in both bouts with Leon.
Yeah, the real story of the Ali-Spinks rematch might be how Leon blew the title by spending his 7 month reign knee-deep in *****, champagne and cocaine.
True. Muhammad fought the right fight second time around, but he was still only a shadow of the man who beat Foreman and Frazier a few years previously. I'm also one of the Ali fans who are unblinkered, and I very rarely watch any of his fights post 1975.
If Muhammad Ali used this same style versus Ken Norton, in San Diego, would he have gotten the decision.
