What fights are you referring to? Haye-Klitschko? Pacquiao-Mayweather? Personally, I don't give a **** if either happen. We've got one mega-fight which is Bradley/Alexander which you probably know nothing about. Boxing is dead my arse. The funny thing about this all is, you've been a poster on ESB longer than I've been a Boxing fan.
I can't believe the ticket sales are so ****in' atrocious for Bradley-Alexander. They've really ****ed this up by putting it on in Detroit. Boxing ain't dead, it ain't dying. Forget the four who ain't fighting each other and look at the bigger picture. There is a lot of quality around and a lot of good fights that will be made this year. Things have been better but it ain't the end of the world.
A Welterweight Champion, can't even sell out a arena...? in there own country..!! Bradley vs Alexander..??? In the 1980's, would this happen..? Boxing is dieing of a slow death.
As said, we have Donaire/Montiel and Bradley/Alexander Plus should have the finish up of the Super Six, and the final of the Bantamweight tournament, so more big fights in those divisions. Martinez defending his title, hopefully a defense against Pirog. Another Pascal/Hopkins go round. Loads of stuff.
I think British Boxing is in a very healthy state at the minute. the only gripe I have is that not too many people (top fighters) are willing to face other top fighters. thank god we have the Super 6 and the Super 4 plus Donaire-Montiel
No, it's the location of the fight, not the fight itself. This would sell big time if staged elsewhere but Detroit is falling to ****in pieces mate. They've ****ed up big time putting a fight like this, any fight for that matter, in a city which is dying a slow death. Boxing may well be having a lull....although I think it's extremely healthy in the UK....but it's far from dying.
not mention the fight is in the ****ing Silverdome which can hold in excess of 90,000 people and was almost closed down a few years back.
And the middleweight division is going through a rebirth. That one will catch fire in 2011. And if Williams does the right thing and comes to 147 he will make an impact. A fight with him and Berto would be fantastic.
