Margarito was a very good opponent. Honestly, I don't think he showed much decline, if any, from his peak. He was just outclassed. The version we saw against Pacquiao was a lot better than the one against Mosley and in the comeback fight. Nothing wrong with the Margarito bout, in my view.

  4. I agree with this, this was a in shape motivated margarito. Its the circumstances around the fight that makes people discredit it, the plaster, year off,not deserving it,150. that stuff.
But I think that margarito right there would have also beaten cotto and cintron that he faced back then. For a former flyweight beating him up like that was impressive.mosley is just easy money record padding though.
I leave it at that because I dont want to make your thread go in another direction.

You know who started his carer at 118lbs and won belts at 135lbs, 147lbs 154lbs and 160lbs? Facing the best of the best even though he was at those weights because he like to eat alot, Roberto Duran and he didn't know what steroids was. Manny is a HOF no doubt in my mind, but after 130-35lbs he has only fought damaged goods at catchweights and the only boxer on his prime and not damage that he could face, he didn't agree to the random test, I was looking forward to c him kick frauds A$$, and he came with the lame excuse that he was afraid of needles or it will make him weak, BULL$HIT!

We all want to see him fight floyd. But for whatever reason that deal cant be made right now. Who else is he supposed to fight in the meantime? Should Manny and Floyd not fight at all unless it is against each other? These guys he is getting criticised for fighting are among the best in the world. I'd still back Mosley against any other Welterweight or any of the light welters moving up.

I'm trying to be completely unbiased now. I think what Manny is doing now is incredible considering if you look back 5 years ago and you see this featherweight beating light middleweights, but I think he still would have been better off without Arum.
I give Manny the most respect in his career when he fist got to America and takes on a top 10 p4p Barrera and dominates and immediately faces Marquez and then Morales a few fights later despite the lose. I had no complaints back then

3 years ago if I'd told you that Pacquiao would move up and dominate De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and (possibly) Mosley, would you have called him a cherry-picker or called me mentally ******ed?

I don't understand how Manny's exploits at 140+ can honestly be criticized.

Incredible. In some fights he looked like he was swimming and boxing at the same time. Amazing.
