That would be my pick too, anyone know who will be training Duddy for this one? He should have tried to get a win to boost confidence before getting in with Lee. Chavez gave him a real beating.

i personally think ***an would be beat by kav over 6 at the minute
but i could understand why he would be considered too dangerous at the moment ..well too experienced

If he is to go any where in boxing he should be wipeing the floor with lads like ***an .if you've got it you've got it . ***an is a journey man . No disrespect but he is not a prospect and kavanagh is I class ***an as an easy boost up the lader for him

Over six rounds Jamie would box the lugs of ***an winning every round his movement in the ring in and out withe combo , kavanagh would win every round !

I wonder what odds you would get on a Irish man to be a World Champion in 2011 in the bookies with the fights up and coming for World titles I think there will be 1 World Champion as there is always a shock win that no one expects.

Harry keitt trained duddy for Chavez so I presume he will retain his services.however I completely agree that John took a good beating in his last fight and needs a change.he probably feels most comfortable with Harry but he never showed any real improved skills against Munoz or medina.the best of duddy has been seen with pat burns.I know he lost to Lyell with pat but he was tryin hard to boil down to 154 and I would say that was a factor in that loss.I think he should have stuck with pat and forgot the Lyell loss.I feel he could have beat Chavez with burns.1 things for certain he will need a better trainer for Lee or I can also see him taking a beating here.

He is learning his trade at the moment, after four 4 rounders i dont think it would be of any benifit to him to take a fight against someone with the experience of ***an.

At the moment he is learning how to transfer the power he has into his punches which once he moves up to 6 rounders i beleve will start to pay dividends and wear opponents down with his KO % rise from body shot stoppages.

Dont get me wrong i think he would beat ***an over 6-8 rounds but for his first few at that length i think there is easier fights. He is only 20 with a stable managment and promotional deal so time is on his side

Does anybody know what's going on with Andy Murray, when are they looking to have his next fight, and who would it be against? It's really hard to get new on him, I can't find anything.

I have to disagree I think it would be much more beneficial to fight ***an than fighting someone they just dug up. ***ans been inactive for a while so no better moment

Nevin goes top of World Series of Boxing rankings

    Monday, 17 January 2011 13:00
Irish senior champion John Joe Nevin has gone back on top of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) bantamweight rankings, following his win for Paris United over Milan's Vitaliy Volkov in Paris on Friday night.

Nevin beat the Ukrainian on a unanimous decision as United hammered the Italians 4-1 to move three points clear at the top of the WSB European Team Championships group after six matches.

Friday's win was the Cavan BC bantamweight's third victory from three outings in the WSB Team Championships which will be decided over 12 matches.

The two top ranked boxers in the bantamweight, lightweight, middleweight, light-heavyweight and heavyweight from the Team Championships qualify for the WSB Individual Championships, which has five Olympic places up for grabs.

If Mullingar-born Nevin, the youngest member of the Irish 2008 Olympic boxing squad, qualifies for the WSB Individual Championships then he will have to win just one fight to book his ticket for the 30th Olympiad in London.

Nevin will be available for selection for United's next match against Milan in Paris on later this month.

He's already beaten Milan's three bantamweights, Olympic bronze medalist Vincenzo Picardi, Vittorio Parrinello and Volkov in international and WSB competition.
