I thought Eubank won as well but you can hardly feel sorry him when you consider the Dan Schomer fight.
Be fair, people can see different things, when watching, thats why boxing can be subjective, as long as people dont just see certain things because its their favourite fighter etc. As for the fight itself, its been years since I saw it. I will have to rewatch it to see how I scored it
Absolutely, you get a different perspective from viewing ringside to watching at home on TV ...... even viewing from different sides of the ring. But for someone to say Collins couldn't hit Eubank with a handful of rice ..... then someone else says Collins won the round ..... just seems too huge a gulf in interpretation :huh
Instead of :huh'ing, why don't you just watch for yourself and make your own mind up. Fight is on YouTube. (Brit commentators/journos etc tend to score on sheer workrate over slipping and ring generalship)
Ooh! Little bit touchy :huh Eubank bored the tits off me too many times back in the day ...... I have no desire to watch him now unless it's a replay of the first Benn fight or the Cronin fight which was the first time I seen him live :good Harry Mullan a journo? :huh
Mullan was totally biased for any fighter with even a hint of irish blood. He thought Chris Finnegan won the first Conteh fight
You did not score any rounds 'even' {always a dangerous thing to do, unless there were no even rounds of course in your opinion}. If you had scored the first round even {10-10}, the third round to Collins {10-9} which it often is seen as Collins round and the eighth round {10-8} to Collins for the knockdown, using your other scores from the other nine rounds you would have had Collins winning 114-113, which was the same as one of the judges, the other judges scored it 115-111 and 116-114 also for Collins. The judge that scored it 116-114 must have scored a few 'even' rounds.
Sure mate, I may do ...... I seen it at the time and you're right it was one of his more watchable fights :good
