I did say pretty much. lol.
But yeah thinking about it which other heavyweight of Lewis' size threw combinations like he did? The only one i can think of is Big Daddy Bowe but that was only over a short period of time.
But the major factor for me regarding Lewis v Tyson would be Lennox's mental strength and non waivering self belief.
Also did'nt Lewis also handle Mike fairly easily when they were sparring has teenagers, after Mike's early aggression had caught him off guard he adapted and then apparently had Tyson boxed off. So another factor would be Lewis' ability to adapt and change the course of a fight.

There are dissimilar stories about this. Some say Lewis held his own after getting beaten, some say Lewis adapted and turned the tides. I, too, would like to know the truth. :think

Tyson lost to Tillman twice in the amateurs. Sparring sessions don't tell the tale, nor do amateur fights but Lewis got his butt kicked the first day and held his own the second. They also sparred when cus was alive. Tyson nor Lewis were close to being the finished product but Lewis was a better amateur.

I agree about sparring and amateur fights. Curious, but do you know who got the better in the Tyson-Holyfield sparring wars?

The problem with asking "which heavyweights of Lewis size throw combos like him" is that there's just not enough good fighters of his size to compare him to. Lennox could throw good combos for a super heavyweight but Bowe and Golota could string punches together better than Lewis.

Lewis's ability to adapt and ring IQ is the most over rated part of his game and his biggest weakness, not his strength like people like to crow. He lost two fights due almost completely to him getting sloppy. And the ancient Holyfield that fought a primed Lewis shouldn't of been a contest, but was made one because of Holy's brain and skills and Lewis fighting foolishly in the rematch.

Yes, and a lot of stock gets put into Lewis winning rematches to McCall and Rahman, guys he should have beaten in the first place!

You don't get ICED twice by mediocre contenders with mediocre power by single punches with an iron jaw now do you? he faced people with decent power, but dismal delivery systems. Tua hit hard, but only with the left hook and only when leaping in with it from a mile away. He was also VERY slow. Klitschko was no one shot bomber and was on his waying to kicking lewis' ass before a bull**** stoppage. Briggs has overrated power and 1 round stamina. Mason is a nobody. Bruno had the best combination of power and delivery on the list, but he also had a bad jaw and tended to freeze up. Ruddock was ruined by tyson. Old and shot tyson? **** that noise. Morrison was a glass jawed, one trick pony. Tucker won more rounds against lewis while further past his prime than he won against Tyson.[/quote]

Who said McCall and Rahman were mediocre punchers? I think they were both respected hitters mate. Plus both they KO punches on Lewis were peaches and would have felled most men.
Infact i can't be arsed going on because every point you make is a pile of poo and belongs on BN24.

Spot on. That's the story i know. Which for me shows an ability in Lewis to adapt, but has you say both were far from being the finished products.

I think they sparred and both started throwing bombs so they stopped it quickly, cant really recall, but thats what someone posted here a few weeks back.

    Give it to Lennox,

too big, too powerful and too clever.

Tyson's got a punchers chance though, but if it goes past 5, it's Lennox all the way.

Me too. Tyson would get demotivated, once he finds that Lennox is still there after the first fifteen minutes or so.

Speed kills and the best Tyson had that speed ... I like him to win by TKO or to pound out a decision of a beat down Lewis ....

:patsch Just like he did against Green, Ribalta, Thomas, Tucker, to name a few? Yep, he'll get frustrated and fold up like a lawn chair as he did in every fight that went past 15 minutes!
