4AM - Run 3miles, then back to sleep
2PM - 60MIN of pad work and heavy bag, 15MIN of slip bag, 15MIN of speed bag, 30MIN of jump rope
5PM - Groundwork (leg raises on dip bar, dips, and neck braces)
10PM - Stationary cycle at 24hr health club

6-7 weeks before fight night; routine remained the same apart from 15 rounds of sparring in place of pad work and heavy bag

Rest in last week and a few weeks off after fight

    Weights? NONE.

Food? EVERYTHING. He was known to eat his favourite, Captain Crunch, by the box load, loved 30oz porterhouse steaks or 2/3's of a roasted chicken; and loved ordering chinese takeaway while studying the past greats at night.

Theory with pad work and heavy bag? Always focussing on moving the head after the last punch thrown, never throwing less than two or more than five punches.

I had a Tyson routine writ down that i grabbed off of the scene a few years ago.

    His regime was beastly.

Why do you people argue and bicker over this information...?

Its a known fact that half of the training routines, floating around on the internet are aload of ****.

I call this place "****** Central" and until people start to sharpen up........only then will i call it somethinge esle.

    It's nonsense.

This is according to Steve Lott (one of a young Mike's very closest), the routine above is what Lott recalls.

I'm just saying, if the man can't finish a whole chicken, he's doing something wrong.

Maybe he could do 4 sets of like 1/3 of a chicken, with rest in between, and gradually reduce the rest/increase the volume of chicken. So instead of eating a lot of chicken over a long period of time he's increasing his chicken eating intensity.

    :rofl:rofl

I mean if John Belushi can do 4 fried chickens and a coke, Iron Mike's just not living up to his potential.

Well no offence but I read it in biography about Tysons life years ago, can't remember the name of the book but maybe someone can help me out. The cover was Tyson leaning forward looking upwith his guard up. The quote from the book was from Cus, something along the lines of "Get this kid on a diet of Coco puffs and steroids".

That and Holyfield saying he was told from a respected source.

We'll never know for sure but anyone who thinks he did certainly can't be regarded as "******ed", it's a view with substance to it.

Great point but I really don't think he did lot of weight training. With that said, he must have done some other sort of resistance training(push-ups, pull-ups, dips, etc) other than bag work to get that kind of physique.

I seem to remember him saying he didn't use weights - he then explained he did pushups/pullups etc and did shrugs with a 30kg barbell.. no weights huh?
