Duran edges a razorthing decision at Lightweight. Next to nothing between them, Duran pushing the action is probably the only thing the judges would use to split them.

At 147, I think he takes it clearly. Pea lost a step at this weight, even if he was still great. Duran, however, was ridiculously impressive against Palomino and Leonard. He wouldnt reach a weight where he began to look like a lesser fighter until 154.

  2. duran would get frustrated not being able to hit him and pull another no mas

Yet Benitez was the bigger man, remember that Duran move up in weight not because he outgrow his natural division, but because he likes to eat, he was a natural 118-122lbs and went straight to 135lbs, he didn't stop at 126-30lbs then from 135 to 147, he is pig when it comes to food.

When SRL fought like a caveman in a personal vendetta, trying to beat Duran at his own game, and it was an extremely close fight that could have gone either way. When SRL fought like SRL he completely outclassed Duran, twice.

**** that. Duran rarely made LW when he was a LW, and he was a full WW who went on many divisions north of that as well. Benitez would school Duran 10x out of 10.

Leonard rarely ever fought like he did in the rematch. Duran 2 and Hagler are the only fights he spent significant amounts of time on his bicycle.

Usually he was flat-footed, and a much more aggressive and offensive fighter than many seem to remember or know him as.

Run from Duran & you lose.

Stay with him & you get hurt.

Pea has'nt the artillary to keep Duran of his chest, it's punch volume & punches landed & that will be Duran, his slick head movement in offence & defence will nullify anything pea can do or hope to get away with, what are pea's options here?? step in & spoil & hope to slip to the side & unload & step back into Duran again!! This ai'nt Mayweather/Hatton, Duran holds all the cards here as to which stratergy too employ & if anyone's daft enough to think that pea can counter & get away from an on-rushing Duran then they are deluded, inside/outside, pea ships damage & Duran pulls away for the UD down the stretch. Pea's one of my all time favorite great fighters but he's in with someone that is just a little bit greater than he is.

This could be an ugly spoiling type of fight with pea riggling like an eel as Duran sticks to his chest but to beat Duran you have to nullify his offence & in the same breath land more punches than him & hope you don't get hurt in the process.......NOT ****IN POSSIBLE:deal

Duran can be the "animal" he's perceived to be, but when the target is different/changes..........

You have to find something to hit before you can get off consistently.

Chavez was one of the best fighters ever at cutting the ring off, yet even he couldn't find Whitaker, neither could Azumah Nelson.

Pea Whitaker is a stylistic hell for Duran he would make Duran quit again. He's exactly the type of guy who would give him fits.:deal
