I have no problem with HBO dictating what fights they put on their network, obviously. However, the problem with this is they have no brains when it comes to boxing. The fights they have put on, including recent ones, are weak compared to Cotto vs Vanes, theres nobody behind the wheel at HBO.

HBO is a juggernaut. Arum is clown in over his head. HBO rules over showtime and always will. With Dexter falling off and Boardwalk being one of the best shows to come on TV in just one season. Arum will never sell a million ppvs on showtime. Not even if all you broke ass *******s subscribed in ******ed unity,

I take this as a good sign HBO is getting smarter about not overpaying. Anyone comparing a deal to something Berto go is living in HBO's (recent) past; they say they're going to be tougher, and hopefully they will be.

Arum is going to go where the bigger money is, even if that's by $.01. It's the ONLY thing that matters, no matter what else he says. And HBO offers the platform to make more money.

...but I think fans lost out in seeing a good, up and comer against Cotto for free on a price that seems reasonable for HBO.

It was hardly just over at 50 percent more - $1 million against $1.5 million, but I can see greasy Bob's reasoning just I can see HBOs.

  8. There is a good opportunity in this. television stations could block bull**** fights like pac vs mosley. This seems stupid because that fight makes money but in the long tail it is best to do this. to get the sport back on the map and make bigger fights eventually.

While I don't like HBO promising dates to fighters without fights, they did ultimately make a better match in Martinez-Dzinziruk than Cotto-Vanes. Also, they wanted to make Martinez-Cotto, which was turned down via Arum's refusal to co-promote with DiBella.

Although I wouldnt trust Arum/Oscar/King and their ilk, it would be tremendous if they somehow could bypass those ripoff, history/science/religion corrupting, porn and pot mongering corps like HBO, Showtime, Verizon, AT&T, Carter, Time Warner and Rupert Murdoch. I canceled HBO and Showtime and got my internet connected to my big screen t.v. but it still comes through their cable. The internet moguls are even worse with Wikipedia, Google, Facebook, Amazon etc promoting pedophilia. In ten years, pundits and politicians will replace their so called homophobia with pedophobia. In the meantime, out children will be more and more fatherless, aborted and to scared to even go outside for fear of ****. The United states will exponentially weaken as did those powers before them who in their golden ages succumbed to gross sexual revolutions just before their downfall
