Mike Tyson vs. Wladimir Klitschko - 2000

Nevermind 2000, Tyson is a nightmare for Wlad and he'd knock him out into 2003 and maybe 2004

 

My money would be on the Brooks trained Tyson.

 

I think the Tyson trained by Brooks is under rated.

 

As is the 2003 Roach trained 225lb version

 

The best he looked his entire comeback was under Brooks. He just didn't fight consistently enough but Brooks was correcting a lot of his mistakes and bad habits he picked up under Bright and McKinley. He should have gone right to the Lewis fight after golota and not canned Brooks.

 

if wlad can't control the distance, i'm afraid he gets tagged and gets hurt. this wlad, while offensively better was not the ring general he is today.

tyson takes a few rounds to warm up but starts landing and puts wlad on the backfoot. it's all downhill from there

 

hell Tyson knocks him out brutally anytime he catches him wlad hadn't developed at all back then and Tyson still had the murderous punch and speed to put wlad out

 

In 2000 Tyson was no longer the fighter that he once was. Brooks did a fine job however I'm not sure how much Tyson had left back then but I'd give him the proverbial puncher's chance against Wlad who pre-steward was alot more open.

 

He just took too much time off between fights. Brooks basically had to start over with Tyson again, and like I said before, Tyson should have gone right to Lewis after fighting Savarese and then Golota. Instead he took a year off and gained a lot of weight.

 

Id give Wlad only a proverbial punchers chance. He wasnt going to outbox Tyson at that point, and Tyson was going to bring a fast paced pressure fight.

 

Tyson was still as tough as they come, not an easy guy to put away. He also looked pretty damn good against Golota, showing some great movement and pressure. I can see this version of Wlad punching himself out and getting stopped in the mid rounds.

 

I wonder how many versions of Tyson exist.

 

Do you think it would come down to Wlad punching himself out, or just imploding early like Golota from the pressure? Like Golota, Wlad really wasnt capable of surviving the onslaught of a fighter like Tyson at this point in his career and he was falling apart against far less dangerous pressure fighters.
