Hes Ring top 10, will bring more British / Irish PPVs than any possible opponent (maybe Katsidis aside) will bring about 5,000 quick sell tickets to the MEN, something no other opponent could bring.

Khan has a date for sky and HBO. he needs a fight. there are a small number of viable contenders - hes going to have to pay someone fairly for a world title fight no?

This is my point. They say they want this fight in the UK but they don't seem to be willing to pay the going rate to make it happen.

The 'super-welterweight division' is just a cack-arsed way of saying they're thinking of making Khan into WBA 'super' world champion, as they do.

That would create an interim>>>regular title which would be open to win.

I do believe that's the mixed message here.

thats not what you said though . this fights happening in the uk doent nmater who ends up in the blue corner , they wanna pay the least they can and protect them selves against a mckolsky win by having options on him if he wins

im not seeing the problem at some point mckolsky or peterson will sign

That wasn't a reply to this. It as a statement.

Obviously it's an exaggeration but just tells you what could be going on.

Why are you believing one side and not the other?

I rather wait till enough has come out from BOTH sides to make a judgement.

McCloskey probably wants what he considers to be a reasonable reward for his endeavours.

It's not a question of simply bringing nothing to the table so they can just exploit him.

    If it was me......

I'd agree to a rematch clause with a pre-set agreed minimum guarantee. As for the options, depends on how many and how binding those are..... obviously the £££ and venues are to be considered.

So long as they aren't taking the **** and he can maintain his position as European champion in the event of a loss it's a win-win for him as far as I'm concerned.

The fight won't happen if Khan cannot get someone to fight him!
Lamont and McCloskey don't need the Khan fight and they have other options. Khan on the other hand needs to make a fight happen and they need to be start making offers to reflect this.
The only way the Maidana fight happened was because HBO told them is was the only Khan fight they would buy and Golden Boy made it happen. If it was left to Khans people, it wouldn't have happened because Maidana was yet another asking for "too much".

    GBP are getting desperate

Team Khan need to stop announcing fights before they've been signed. They're putting themselves in a worse position when negotiating.

Because everyone is asking "too much". Katsidis did, Maidana did, Peterson did and now McCloskey:yep
Seriously, how much do you think Khan will make out of his next fight?

Peterson is only 26 and McCloskey can keep on defending his Euro strap for a while until another title shot opens up.
What percent of the fight revenue do you think is reasonable?
