I haven't watched that much of him & the stuff I have watched I just enjoyed for entertainment never really studied him. So how good was he? Any strengths/weaknesses that aren't well known to the average fan? Fill me in
Close to 6ft tall , could knock you out with either hand and always came to fight. In his prime he would dominate todays Welters as he was a true 147 great. Never ducked anybody , never a bad word about anybody and was in some great fights. A national hero and represented Puerto Rico to the highest standards.
Tito was a fast, precise, and very powerful puncher who mixed it up well to the head and body. His famous left hook being the center piece of his arsenal. He was quite good at getting punches off at any range. He was vulnerable early (mostly down at 147) due to poor balance, but once he got going, he was a tough guy to hurt and an even tougher guy to discourage. Tito had decent defense, but wasn't anything great in that area. Offensively speaking, both in terms of technique and raw ability, he's one of the very best fighters to come along in the past few decades, and as I said, a tough guy to keep away. Great fighter.
Tito had fake power cause he used Illegal Cement-Style Loaded Gloves in almost all of his fights. Tito is a cheater that got away with it, until he was caught prior to Hopkins fight.
He could switch off the light and be in bed before it'd go out. Of course, he'd probably break the switch and take a fall before he got back to the bed, but the point still stands.
Very accurate puncher/not the greatest footwork/Great stamina/1 Punch knockout power/could take a hell of a punch/relentless to the end, i can go on and on definately one of the best if not the best fighter to come out of PuertoRico.
