All of our ancestors ate monkeys even in Europe where Chimpanzees and other apes were wiped out. I doubt though if mammalian carnivores were eaten much due to hyper amounts of vitamin A in their livers that gets pushed into the blood stream and meat during any excessive trauma.

AfroAmericans once had all the boxing advantages that I listed above for Mexicans, including Prayer, Hybrid vigor, good food, lack of other financial opportunities, bergmann's rule, robust bone structure, lots of kids playing and working hard, lots of boxing, warrior ancestry but they are slowly loosing these qualities due modern lifestyles. Many Afroamericans believe that they have a genetic advantage over Afrolatinos but actually many Afrolatinos would have more hybrid vigor due to the addition of Indian blood. the only advantages that North American blacks would have would be Bergmann's rule ( higher or denser body mass in higher latitudes) and any adaptive ingenuity for surviving cold weather. I forgot to mention that even hybrid vigor can have compromises. Hybrid vigor gives offspring a much better chance of canceling out deleterious alleles simply because there is a greater variety to be selected for. However, some species have shown a decrease or loss of specializations needed for survival. For instance, when a white tailed deer breeds with a mule deer, its offspring are more generalist in their ability to feed and find shelter, etc..which cause a higher mortality rate. However both pre and post natal parental effects in almost all living effects has a huge effect on survivability and quickly reversing certain innate behaviors.
