You should check some of your comments after the London lad Barker struggled with Belghlecham.

best of luck john great fighter , great heart and one fighter that always gave you value for the money ya paid for your ticket. I just hope when he's a year down the line he wont regret the 100 grand when he's well pissed off getting up to work at 6 on those hatefull sites :patsch

On different note that be a good fight for lee against mcewan as he holds a win over him in the amateurs

WELL DONE JOHN DUDDY a true Celtic warrior

It's hugely disappointing to see a lad who has done so much for Irish boxing abroad call time at a relatively young age. His timing of the decision doesn't help Lee but I don't think it will hurt him too much. They'll get another match made I'm sure.

The main thing is that it's the right decision for Duddy. I hope it is. I don't like seeing fighters coming back. The idea of a fighter getting his timing right and walking away with no regrets is one I hope applies to Duddy.

Hats off to Duddy and may he enjoy the rest of his life outside of the ring

Fair play to Duddy for having the balls to retire on his own terms. Would have been a shame if he had went into the Lee fight with his heart not in it and only wanting to pick up a cheque. That would have been the easy option, an easy $100k. Gutted that Lee-Duddy never crossed swords but still got hopes of Lee-Macklin at some stage or even Lee-Barker for the Euro Title.

Hectic start to 2011! Casey and Magee getting their shots, Duddy-Lee almost happening and McC almost getting his shot, it seems

It's easy to be up to take a fight when in the negotion stage but within minutes of stepping back into the gym you can know pretty soon that it's time to call it a day cause your heart or head is not there and it takes a big man to accept this and turn down 100k.

    Best of luck John

Best of Luck to John Duddy.

DiBella has dropped the name of Craig McEwan as a possible replacement for John on the march card. McEwan is pencilled in on the Khan undercard in april but will surely drop out of that for a HBO televised card? I think McEwan will be a tougher challenge for andy lee but will he get the same amount of credit he would have gotten with a win over Duddy?

I was looking forward to this fight and I was routing for Duddy. It's sad to see him go but it would worse if he just went through the motions and got beaten up.

I would be seriously pissed off though if I booked flights... Hopefully they'll get a good opponent for Lee

After hearing the announcement of Macklin-Winky I was just thinking that we were getting spolled with fights and that one of the fights would fall out of bed.

I would like to wish Duddy well in his retirement, if his heart is not in it anymore then I respect his decision and it is the correct one. Nobody wants to see him go into a tough fight with Lee, unprepared and in two minds.

It looks like McCloskey-Khan will not happen - I bet they thought they could get McCloskey for peanuts. He is just right in protecting his interests. Khan's fight will be on PPV and Sky will hump this with wall-to-wall hype, especially after Khan's brilliant win over Maidana - so McCloskey is right to stick to his guns and not sell himself short in the negotiations.
