definately foreman , what he did to frazier and norton was frightening . old time boxing people were truly fearful that ali could get seriosly hurt against foreman.

Foreman...which is why I consider Ali's victory over him as arguably the greatest victory ever.

tyson for me, i grew up in that era when tyson carved up the heavyweight scene and i just couldn't imagine him losing a fight, he seemed that invincible.

i'll never forget watching that douglas fight, i couldn't believe what i was seeing. even from the early rounds you could tell that there was an upset on the cards, douglas was getting through to tyson like no one ever had done before. i must of watched that fight every day for a month after.

I'd say tyson if were talking about mass public perception. Think about it the phrase 'he looks like hes gone 10 rounds with tyson' comes to mind. It was more to do with his fighting style + dominance. He wasnt about putting on a boxing masterclass. Tyson was there to stomp you. You can still watch that footage of him pushing his knuckles right up inside his gloves and get a feel for how he was perceived.

Tyson looked easy to beat in the Tillis fight.

I went with Foreman as at that time, his competition was awesome and he was indeed a force.

He may have looked easy to beat in Tillis fight but leading up to the Tillis fight he earned a reputation as a KO artist. Even afterwards.

Foreman's career didn't have that zing until he beat Frazier; prior to that he looked beatable, which is why the odds favored Frazier to beat him.

Besides Tyson was still learning and as he was a 19 year old kid rising up the ranks.

    Great question and fantastic options...
I had to go with tyson with foreman closely behind, mainly because more emphasis is put on heavyweight fighters being unstoppable in their primes.
Tyson was a beast and eventhough foreman and jones looked unstoppable, tyson was truly something else. Something boxing didnt see before and something we may never see again, people who didnt watch boxing started because of this man, and when he was top he was incredible, in our minds from what we saw it would take a superhuman to beat tyson and even then it wouldnt be enough.
Until he eventually got beat by douglas and soon people realised that tyson could be outboxed as seen with holyfield. But nothing will change those times where the whole was gripped by Tyson which is why he deserves to be known as the most unstoppable boxer ever at that point in his career.

    lol!

i dont hate roy jones in fact i'm a very big fan! i'm just a little disappointed that there wasnt that much competition during his reign... probably toney or hill. but if he only fought michalczewski, man that would really have changed everything about him.
