I remember when mosley won the wba from margarito he didn't fight anyone until he fought floyd. I never understood why he wasn't stripped.

Aydin REFUSES to fight Berto outside of Turkey, so he is to blame.

so that would make the fight between Mayweather and Martinez a real possibility .. two former and currently emeritus WBC fighters?

Honestly, I bet Berto cares more about the strap than so does Martinez.
(Andre prob still payes his dues on time ect... Where as Martinez could give 2 ****s)

Sergio is bigger than a belt, He is the 160lbs division. (meaning you have to go thru him)

But didn't HBO just shot themselves in the leg? They knew WBC
would eventually strip Martinez by not approving Zbik fight so is
Martinez without the belt more valuable to them than Martinez with belt?

This means they simply don't believe that Martinez will get any
significant fight soon in terms of a ppv buys and mnls $$$ income.
Neither Floyd or PAC are going to fight Martinez anymore
and the 154/160 scene right now is pretty empty so Martinez
can say adieu not only to belt but also to big $$$.

I think the fight between Martinez and Zbik right now has no real $$$ behind,
but if Martinez is stripped and Zbik wins the WBC belt then potential fight:
Martinez (linear, Ring champion) vs Zbik (WBC belt holder)
can be sold much easily ... the same fight the two different incomes.

... and after that Martinez would be holding WBC belt again,
so what the whole fuss about?

he had signed up to fight Berto to unify the titles then the earthquake in Haiti meant the fight was off and Mosley ended up with Mayweather.

No Martinez is the 160 emeritus champion.

    Mayweather is 154.

He was also the WBA Super-More-Famous-Than-Senchenko Champion, so he got more time between defenses.
