    Your getting a shot at the World title and vs one of the top up and coming young fighter in the world, why are you crying about money.

    If you can beat Khan then you can get the big money fights, this just shows they want to cash up because they know already they are not beating Khan.

    Money was not the reason Marquez turned it down. Marquez would never come to the UK. GBP, HBO wouldn't like it either. Marquez was given options, he chose Katsidis. They had a meeting about it. Khan's offer was still on the table. Do you think Katsidis' offer was bigger than Khan's? I don't.

    They were pretty vocal before-hand. Not even one tiny word after they supposedly priced themselves out.

    Money was not an issue for the Marquez fight. Maidana wanted 55/45 split, wanted it in U.S, Peterson wanted a similiar amount to Maidana ($550,000).

    McCloskey? We don't know. Khan was only just ranting the other day about how people treat him like he's a cash cow and overprice themselves. Why would he constantly do that?

    People have to genuinely see that people obviously, will demand more from Khan because they know his background and what he can bring to the table.

    I can understand where you're coming from in the sense that it's more likely that it's Khan's camp overpricing or being tight, but none of us have figure's, so until then, we should sit tight and wait.

    :huh His Promoter selected the opponents throughout his career, not his Manager. His Family only approved whether it's a good move or not.

    Bro, you don't even know the circumstances of every situation. You don't know what or how things were going on so I don't quite understand how you can judge him.

    If you really want to get to know him, call his office and get a Q and A from him. I'm sure that would satisfy you :lol:

    Riddle me this! How much do you think an unbeaten European champion deserves for a world title fight in a 22,000 seater arena on a massive PPV bill.

    Baring in mind the PPV revenue alone will be in the order of £3m and the gate another £2m.

    There's a difference though in being offered £75k for some Euro stiff and £100k to fight the #2 in the division.

    It's not unreasonable to want a reasonable sum of money for your troubles, and also reasonably conditions imposed on you should you actually win.

    A fair deal would be double or treble what he's been earning up to press, with a pre-set purse of half a million pounds for the rematch.

    If that's the case, then double of that sounds reasonable. Along with the other benefits...

    - A shortcut to a world title fight.
    - A chance to cause a massive upset over a hot young name.
    - Be on the world stage (exposure to the US market).

    ....Paul won't get the same chance anytime soon. But as I've said before, I'll wait to see what exactly did Khan offer them, and how it compares to Paul's past earnings.

    specific figures for fights way below this level dont serve a comparible purpose.


    It should be based on %.


    Throwing this out there, for those who think McCloskey should have taken the fight on those terms, what percentage of the pot do you feel would be fair????
