    Agreed.

If Liam Walsh was taking this guy in we'd expect a dominant performance, with Burns supposedly being a world champion a blow out is necessary.

One easy defence against a small opponent is bad enough.... this is taking the **** and Sky ought to get the red card out, or Burns himself saying no.

If you want to call yourself a world champion you've gotta fight world class fighters, not opponents that would be fodder at domestic level...... especially after knocking over a dangerous, if slightly overrated champion to win the title.

Just looking at his record. Appelby is the first boxer he beat with a positive record. This would be a **** fight for a British title defence, nevermind a world title. I like Burns and all but I have to say I'm pulling for Laryea, I just can't get behind someone who fights someone this bad as a world title defence.

I do think its shocking that Sky havent said something they have more power than the promoter bbbc and to some extent the WBO if Sky said no im not going to show Laryea as a world title fight Warren would have no option but to find a better alternative. Its not like he can sulk off to another channel.

Obviously Warren is going to try and get the easiest defence possible for Burns but unless Sky put their foot down it gives him the green light to take the ****

    LMAO! :rofl

Every guy with a winning record that he faced before Appleby he lost to. That makes it even more embarrassing for Appleby

I am watching it because it will be a British fighter defending his world title and boxing is littered with fighters taking soft defences and being pushed hard.

:huh He just about beat the hell out of the man who was considered number one in the division!

This fight is rubbish though and I really hope this doesn't make Ricky an unpopular fighter as he is one of the ballsiest out there, he would wouldn't care if he showed up on the night and found out he was fighting a prime barrera, he would just get on with it. He showed his balls on the way up when he took on earl, arthur and Johannson in there home towns when he was basically a novice.

Warren is making a stupid move.

well im confused,:huh larryea beats burns out of site, yet if burns could have scraped by with a famous scottish hometown job, there would have been no complaints, Laryea is a good fighter, big for the weight, awkward, and needs to be taken serious, at least a couple of his losses have been contreversial, plus he's on a high from his appleby victory. i see a good fight.:good

If Appleby had got the fight it would have been a travesty as well, however less people would have complained because of the attraction of an all Scottish world title fight. The more I think about this Laryea fight the more pissed off I am, the only consolation is that Burns has now had 2 defences in quick succession, so if he lines up a good fight soon after the Laryea fight it won't be too bad. If it's another joke defence I'm finished with following him.

He definitely won't underestimate him, one thing about Ricky and Billy is that they're always very well prepared for every single fight.

Yeah, this guy is as good as many Calzaghe faced, perhaps better. Give Ricky a break here, he deserves a few easy title defences. I think the management and team are doing well with him, he's keeping busy for sure. :good
Would any of you go in against a dangerous opponent for little money in your first few defences?

And if Laryea wins does that mean he deserves some easy defences? and on and on it could continue. This fight is a poor advertisement for boxing supposedly at its highest level.
