l Getting put down does not make someone chinny. Look at Khan in Maidana fight, he was out on feet but didnt go down. Clearly very hurt. Whereas JMM gets knockdown quite alot, but never does he look hurt, or in trouble, and gets straight back up.
Similar story with Maidana. It would be hard to call him chinny, but to have been knocked down as much as he has, and not been stopped is bloody impressive. Most impressively, how many times have you seen a fighter get up when hit with a hard body punch that lands on the button? I'm amazed a bigger deal hasn't been made of that! Admittedly, he did make use of Cortez to stretch out, but he was clearly in agony and then just got up! Equally amazed...nobody mentioned Nigel Benn! Good thread this!
Yeah, Benn's a good call. Crazy ******* used to swing away rather than cover up when he got buzzed or dropped.
Whoever said Derry Matthews is spot on Considering this bloke knocked him down 5 times last time they met and he knows he doesnt have the greatest chin in the world it took balls to fight him like this in prizefighter such a great round [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJVM39FxlA8[/ame]
Benn was one of the first ones I thought of but I thought I might get pelters for putting him. Agree with you about the body shot, Maidana's face looked like he was enduring indescribable pain and it must have took every bit of strength in his body to get himself up.
I was ****ing screaming at the tv for Derry to cover up I am not a huge prizefighter fan but that fight and the whole competition that night was pure class.
