It's ok, it's not like Benitez won a title at age 17 or anything.

Felix best wins is Pernell, Oscar, Joppy and Vargas
    Has 15 welterweight defenses

Benitez has a draw with Hearns, win over Duran, Antonio Cervantes, and Bruce Curry
    Youngest champion ever at 17

It's not that big of a margin

Carlos Ortiz, and its a shame PRs dont know about him, and hes still alive and healthy.

Beat several hall of famers, and of his seven losses, I believe 4 or 5 were losses to hall of famers by close decision in THEIR backyards.

    ***CHECK***
Lost to Johnny Busso in his hometown by decision, immediately avenged
Beat undefeated Battling Torres in LA in a forgot great PR v. MEX matchup
(Torres is one of RIng mag's 100 biggest punchers)
Defeated hall of famer Duillo Loi
Lost two matches to Loi by decision in Loi's hometown
Defeated hall of famer Joe Brown
Knocked out hall of famer Flash Elorde twice
Lost to hall of famer Ismael Laguna in his hometown, immediately revenged, twice
Knocked out hall of famer Sugar Ramos twice, including once in his hometown
Draw with Niccolino Loche in his hometown
Lost to Kenny Lane, avenged twice

absolutely incredible career, and never seems to have gotten his just due. He fought HALL OF FAMERS in THEIR BACKYARDS repeatedly! Only fought in PR 5 times- NEVER outclassed or even clearly beaten until he was old as hell to Ken Buchanan.

My #2. The only other fighter to amass 3 GREAT victories by the age of 22 is Salvador Sanchez (that I know of). Cervantez, Palomino, Duran.

During the Cervantes fight the commentators kept calling it "Chico and the Man." He looked like a kid in there and he was coolly beating a legend with his high school class in attendance.

Benitez. He fought the best fighters in his era Hearns,Leonard,Duran and easily outboxed Duran and took Hearns the distance. His fight with Leonard was an exciting fight. Also, Wilfred was a legit 3 weight champion.

Anyone that doesnt have Benitez at number 1 is on more drugs than Roger Mayweather.

Dam these posters who started watching boxing in the late 90's and now think they are experts on the subject.

Gomez and its a ****ing joke that he isnt on this list.

Ortiz and Benitez come at a very close 2nd and 3rd.

    Tito is a distant 4th.
