arm punches. and frankly most fighters today don't punch thru their targets. Dawson, dirrell, alexander, bradley are examples of fighters who don't punch thru their targets. Pacquiao is an example of a fighter who punches thru a guy. You can see it how he follows up with his punches and not just pull it back.
accuracy too. Look at Bradley's shots, he just throws em in the general direction of. Pac aims for the tip of the chin, the temple, etc.
I was going to say this. He throws a lot of shoe shiners. When he throws his overhand right, it has some good power though
It usually comes down to punching technique. Some guys don't sit down on their punches. Other guys are slappers, rather than knuckle punchers. As big as Jeff Lacy was, you would think he would have had more power than he did too. Analyzing many of his fights, it was clear to see, his powerful looking hooks, he would unload, almost always landed with the inside of the gloved fist, instead of on the knuckles. That makes a big difference in impact force. Bradley seemed to be doing the same thing in the few fights of his, that I saw.
Because he punches with the wrong end of the glove in big exchanges I'm surprised no one notices, it's a matter of technique when it comes to his lack of power.
Bradly doesn't turn his hand over he cups his left hook sometimes and his left hook is sometimes to wide and he loops his right hand sometimes For his size he needs to shorten his left hook cause hes compact and short but he does have power look at the video of some of his mistakes and when he is punching the right way turning his hand over notice in the 0:15 mark his left hook is to wide so he gets caught plus his right is not protecting his chin at the 1:03 mark his right hand is perfect 1:24 mark again its perfect [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbHw45IZxl8[/ame] notice in the first part of the fight hes looping his right hand but as soon as he uses the right technique the correct way by turning it over he hurts Carlos 0:47 mark notice at the 107 mark his left hook is not turned over therefore it has no power proof at the 1:15 mark.... look at the hook in slow motion notice he slaps Carlos on the side of the head by not turning his hand over... if he would have turnd his hand over he would have hurt Carlos bad [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5jQtJyS1D4[/ame] That can easily be corrected with proper training he needs to correct these mistakes now that hes going against top bigger fighters :bbb
big jacked muscles=/=speed and power hes also poor at putting leverage on his shots. i also think people mistake his lack of a finisher's ability for a physical lack of hitting strength. I just dont think he has the skillset to be a good finisher, nor the power edit: watching those highlights proves it, dude throws arm punches and they aren't aimed with precision at vital points. never KO anyone like that.
Dude has no target really. Throws fast combination just to hit but has no intention to **** up his opponents. He should use compact punches. With the speed like his, i think he could hit and get out of the danger zone quickly.
Atleast he has enough power to actually hurt people & get knockdowns. It isn't like he's Juan Diaz or malignaggi in there.
because he has poor power punching technique in that he squares up, and does not transfer weight well n turn his hips. On a side note, he has a vegan diet while in camp which accounts for poor protein intake for someone who's body relies on it not only for boxing, but those body builder muscles so they look good but have not a ton of strength in them
Protein isn't as important as you think and there is no reason why someone on a vegan diet wouldn't get enough if they ate a variety of foods. Power comes from the legs and torso which is why upper body muscles give no indication of punching power.
