I don't post in this forum as much as I should but I do read a lot of the threads on here and I can't understand why some posters constantly go out of the way to **** guys off who are actually doing something good in the business. It's like they want to make a name for themselves by standing out and saying "nah, you're a **** fighter, retire" or whatever. I know on the other end, you have posters constantly sucking up which is a bit annoying, I suppose, but I think it's a great thing these proper boxing people are posting on here. It's good to hear about how a guys training camp is going or a fighter be totally honest about recent performances, yet you constantly have people making an effort to let everyone else on ESB know that they are unimpressed and causing a scene. Probably a pretty pointless thread But, for what it's worth, I enjoy reading their posts. It's one thing which makes the British forum stand out. How many other places can say they've had past, current and, hopefully, future world champions, top quality trainers and respected journalists?
if your critical of a pro that posts on here your attention grabbing. if you say something positive your kissing arse. its pretty frustrating. at least its not as bad as boxrec. the bum licking of pros on there is mental. one of them actually had Paul Smith and DeGale even going into the 9th and said "Smigga would have gone in to stop him"
its difficult to judge fights with a lot of crap souring through your veins, though the a.b.a. pay and promote you for that kind of judging.:-verysad:think:good
I think most of us find the right balance of being respectful while not going over the top like they do on boxrec. There are obviously those that seem to get a kick out of talking shite though.
Which fighter, trainer and journalist posts here? I've seen Murray's trainer and Buncey pop on here from time to time. Anyone else?
Thing is - people go to such extremes. People should just post the same as they would in real life. Being polite is not arse kissing, it's just being polite. Some of the things said on these boards are bizarre, so much hatred. Boxing is a violent sport but still, it's bizarre. People need to realavate themselves, though for some it may be too late. These punks make me scratch my head. Treat everyone with respect - and we will all get along. Jah sits with the highly and he sits with the lowly Realavate yourself!
I agree, I quite enjoy reading the 'pro' posts as it gives me greater insight into the sport I love. Some people try to make a name for themselves on her by slagging off the pros just so they can go bck to their mates and say they had it out with Bellew or Gavin etc. I've never posted/ read on the boxrec forum so I can't comment on then lot, but I don't think we get too much arse licking. I just see it as fans being respectful more than anything.
Come on now, Rob. You came on here and said 'BoxRec' had it like this. Almost everyone over there said Degale did a number on him. You're right though, some don't want to call it as it really is - and there are polite ways of doing so.
This is the most sensible thing I've seen written on a forum in a long time. I hardly fall out with anyone. When I did one time - and it started to get a little out of hand - I explained to the poster that I treated the internet like real life and posters as real people. I mean, we knew each other of sorts and could easily have actually found each other. He disagreed saying that forums had no connection to 'real life', etc.
