I'd like to see him in something spectacular, but not TOO hard. Give him a break, guys - it's a comeback fight. * I don't think he'd get a title fight, so Stieglitz and Sartison are out. Too bad. I'd like to see it... and he would win. * I don't wanna see him at light heavyweight at all - I don't think he's big enough, and I don't see any good fights for him there. Tavoris Cloud? He'd kill Pavlik now. * DeGale shouldn't happen. I'd like to see DeGale grow slowly and steadily, not be beaten to a pulp by Pavlik before he's ready for that caliber of fighter. So... Allan Green, sure. Brinkley. Mendy, perhaps.
pavlik will probabbly not be the same fighter as the one that beat taylor and to to be honest his wins over taylor dont add up to that much now when you look at the times taylor has been stopped and the big fights he has lost , the degale fight is one that would put degale on the world map and hopefuly get pavlik to think about retirement which is what he should be doing
I'm assuming 168 so James DeGal or Mikkel Kessler. Kessler is in his twilight years and DeGal is still relatively green as a pro so I'd give pavlik a chance against either.
loew recently said he sees kelly winning a couple fights before "he's right back in it." if that's the case, then i doubt they will be jumpin in w/ anyone at the top of either weight class. i'm assuming this will be 168. if that's the case i can see, and would like to see, a bika or andrade fight, maybe allen green. manfredo jr. is on a bit of a win streak. i would eventually like to see him fight kessler if he can get back to form.
If we are talking about Pavlik's opponent if he fights on the Pac-Mosley undercard then I wouldn't expect anyone of note. He was set to face Vera last time out and that was several months ago so I'd expect another Vera level opponent for his first fight(or possibly two) back.
Sounds good to me. I think he can make 160 if he stays on the wagon. When I stopped drinking I lost 15 lbs. and it has not come back, and I eat more than before.
What about Edwin Rodriquez? He's 18-0 (13 KO's.) He just got some exposure on FNF. He beat Aaron Pryor JR, McGirt JR, and Marcus Upshaw.
For sure but Andrade would be the perfect gatekeeper type opponent for Pavlik's first fight at 168 IMO. If Kelly is motivated and trains hard, he should win the fight fairly easily. If he isn't, Andrade is certainly capable of pulling off the upset. I'd rather something like this than to put him in with a tomato can or someone like Bute who would destroy him. With that being said, a tuneup against a punching bag is the likely scenario and it's probably a good call from a management perspective.
