While agree that Patterson is too small the above comment is sort of funny. Tyson and Tua barely even hit Lewis. Lewis didnt flinch from Briggs and Mercer? Thats funny. I thought Lewis lost to Mercer and at the very least he was rocked several times and his face was made to look like a cartoon character with all the swelling. Briggs almost dropped him and had him reeling around the ring. Hardly what you call "not flinching."

I do think that Patterson would do better than he did against Liston.

Everyone seems to write of Patterson here. Skillwise, I think Patterson could out-box Lennox and drop him with one of his hooks. His combination punches and fast hands would help him here and could potentially carry him to victory. If he's scared, like he was against Liston, Lewis would knock him out in 3 or 4 rounds. Floyd had no gameplan for Liston and left his courage in the dressing room before the fight even started.

Prime for prime, the logical result is a Lewis victory by KO inside 7 rounds. Too much size and reach for Floyd. I'd still give Patterson a little more respect by virtue of Ali's praise of him being the most skilled boxer he ever fought.

...Yes...no need to exaggerate for this one, probably, suckeggs...Thanks though...Also that version of Floyd was not exactly a "prime" Patterson...by any means.

Same here. Floyd could be explosive on the inside. If Lewis was unfocused for a split second, he could find himself looking up at the lights, the victim of a leaping gazelle left hook. But if they fought each other on their best nights, I'd pick Lennox to win by knockout early. Patterson also lacked self-confidence at times, both in and out of the ring.

Im a huge fan of both these guys!...But Lennox would have just been to much for Floyd, the size difference, Lewis's power and accuracy..Lewis has in outa there no latter than the third..Lewis would for sure beat Patterson way worse than Liston did.

You didn´t find it because it´s a stupid matchup. Only one outcome possible.

Lewis early KO, Patterson would not have the armoury to bother a heavyhanded skilled behemoth like Lewis.
