It was a draw not a W. Great performance and beats Zarragoza as his biggest scalp. Fenech was robbed defenitely, ruined his career and sadly also affected Australian boxing s a whole.

I dunno how this thread kicked off with a victory to Nelson.
    It was declared a draw.

It was an amazing fight & anything that is amazing when Don King is involved, will happen again. You could have almost smelt Draw.

This fight stands out to me, apart from the action, because in my local (Yacht club), when I asked them to keep me the poster, they told me they weren't showing it.
    I hit the roof.
I told the Pres. that he was off his head.
He said "We have a committment to the TAB"
I said the "The fight is on at about 11AM"
    It didn't help.

I watched it in a small sports club And you couldn't move in the joint.
The irony (sic) was that the ME was Tyson V Ruddock, which ws also one of Tyson better victories (Because of Dons resilience) but the club crowd was reduced by 75% straight after Jeffs fight.

Funny thing about the yacht club decision. I returned there at about 3Pm.
I was met by the Pres.
"Before you say anything, we stuffed up"
It turns out that our permanent Fisho raffle that always sells out, flopped & the barmaids bought the chickens

The TAB, Well,, the 2IC said to me "So far (At 3PM) we've taken $270 odd dollars":lol::lol:

    What a fight.

Good little tale Rodin. Back in the days when you actually had a decent undercard to a big fight. Dennis Milton and Riddick Bowe both fought on the u/card that night.

Both in 85', so I can't imagine being very little difference apart from a birthday squeezed in between.

Since your slow on the answer (for a bloke who's usually quick as a whip with the answers!), I'll take it that your waaaayyy older than me old mate!!

    pff!!!!

    HATER!!!!!!!!

fenech wins easily yet u give him zero credit. but when nelson wins u give him all credit. hmm.

some people astound me sometimes fair dinkum, lol.

anyone that doesn't think that fenechs robbery in this 1st fight didn't break his spirit, need only see fenechs need to fight nelson again in 2008. if fenech had been rightly given the win in that fight, fenech wouldn't have cared less about the 2008 fight. he would have copped the ko loss to nelson on the chin imo. but had the robbery not occured, i don't believe fenech would have lost the second fight.

    that decision RUINED him.

I'm only slow on the answer due to you having edited/added the bottom line after I was mid reply. I only noticed the extended version in the last hour... My excuse anyway.

    13. I'm tipping you'd have been about 27. :D
