No way in hell Jackson goes the distance. Chin not good enough, and Toney was too accurate and had very good power. And mind you.... JJ is among my top 5-6 all time fav fighters.
I like julian jackson, and when I think of toney I have difficulties imagining the 160 version without the randy couture humiliation coming in my mind thats why I gave that prediction. I do believe julian jackson has little chance. What about jackson vs hearns that would be a cool match up.
Not only is that fight irrelevant because Toney is now 215 years old.... but its even more irrelevant because its in a TOTALLY DIFFERENT SPORT! One Toney had limited training in. Toney was born for the sweet science... not homo grappling. But anyway..... Hearns would smoke Jackson within 4.
exactly thats why its humiliating, he pisses me off because he is one of the biggest waste of talents in the sport, same with zab judah. Imagine that while he still had a great career, it says a lot about his talent.
I dont think most boxing fans really. It has nothing to do with JT's boxing legacy. Plus.... the man has finished in ANY combat sport for quite a few years now. Toney is a waste of talent, but at the end of the day he's still headed to the HOF one day. And theres a big differance between Toney and Zab. Toney at his best was awesome, and had a brilliant skill set. Zab was just more flash than substance. Fast as hell, and KO power.... but no chin, no brain, no stamina, and underdeveloped skills.
is jackson allowed to juice up like toney for this match up? if prime toney could only draw with 11 defeat sanderline williams, lose to 8 defeat drake thadzi, and only manage split decision wins over tiberi, sosa, and johnson, then jackson must have a chance.
they still both fall in the wasted talent category, it just means toney is the bigger waste of talent. I would never deny that he is hall of fame fighter though.
