If only Edwin Valero was alive, he'd be steamrolling these fighters at 135/140...

Valero was on steroid rage side-effects.

But even then, Valero was just as scared to fight Soto, as Pacman is scared to fight Soto.

Pac has been to scared to fight Soto since 2006.

AFter Soto ko'd Pac's brother-Bobby, Soto stood at the ropes and pointed his glove at a crying Pacman, sitting at ringside, and challenged Pac to a future fight.
    Pac chickened-out.

Not when it's barely winning them.

Valero won the first few pretty much on activity alone. He wasn't very accurate.

At the time of the retirement I had it 89-81 Valero (8 rounds to 1 plus the deduction point) but a few of those rounds were by no means dominant Valero rounds or even close to dominant.

You kind of have to if you're going to even bother talking about it, because it's the best opponent he faced.

Alternately...we could just not talk about the douchebag. :yep

  5. First you classified "clearly winning every round" as not being dominant and now it's changed to "not barely winning them?"

    :patsch

I agree with 135 since it's a fairly weak division right now, obviously JMM would outbox him easily. And he'd be at the bottom of the pack at 140.

Guzman fought like a scared coward by running.
Guzman had to cheat with an intentioanl low blow on SOto in the 3rd round.

After Guzman hit Soto with an intentional low blow, Guzman ran like a chicken.
Guzman had all this planned out ahead of time, while training.

Guzman knew, if he cant handle Soto's power, go to PLAN B.

Hit Soto with a low blow, and RUN RUN and RUN like a chicken

  8. Valero would've beat JMM.

A past his prime JMM is too small and too old to beat a prime Valero. JMM got rocked by Katsidis and Juan Diaz.

I shudder to think what my boy Valero would've done to him.

    Every round is different.

    Try re-reading what was said.

  11. Try phrasing it into something coherent.

jmm, past peak, retired or dead, is kryptonite to valero and would have eating him alive with counter punches. i could see a shutout victory

I was clear. I illustrated the rounds he barely won (first half of the fight, where he was just slugging like crazy and winning on the strength of simply backing DeMarco up and keeping him from doing much) and from the very beginning have said that his won rounds got more dominant towards the end before Tony quit.

Your original statement was that he dominated the entire fight, every round. That simply isn't so, on multiple levels. He lost at least one round on most scorecards, and of the several he did unanimously win not all of them were dominant blowout rounds.

  14. It's a lot more difficult to counter someone when they themselves are skilled counterpunchers who possess better reflexes and faster hands than you.
