It's been a bit of a disappointing week with John Duddy retiring. The successes of both Duddy and Dunne [along with RTE and Peter's involvement] help pave the way for the healthy professional scene that we are experiencing now in this country. It was reported on BBCNI that John has secured a part in a Broadway play, so good luck to him there. As much as I thought John might have had another couple more fights left in him, it is much better for a boxer to leave the game on his own terms, with his head held high, as too many boxers have in the past, hung around for too long and are ultimately chewed up and spat out by this merciless of sports.

Read the Star today they have been doing a good couple of pages every week on the upcoming Senior championships , today Con Sheehan was being interveiwd , he just said he is staying at heavyweight and that he think McCarthy might move up this year and that he wants to turn pro down the line and probably after the next olympics !!

JJJ surprised me watching setanta last night , didnt think he would make it as a pro at all but after watching him last night he looked like he could adjust , looked like he had a decent bit of power even though he was fighting at middleweight.

Nothing on my listings either - it must not be on setanta ireland which is a disapointment. To be honest I have cancelled my subscription to this earlier this week, not enough boxing on here to justify an extra tenner per month.

I definitely wouldnt be subscribing to it, but I get it free on chorus. At least the Jamie McDonnell fight should be good on sky. the opponent has a pretty good record. Guess its very doubtful Kieran Farrell will get on tv

Danny McIntosh had a good win in France tonite, Cleverly took care of him with ease but he appears to be a class act, how would Michael Sweeney fare against Danny. Sweeney seems very likeable and a decent boxer but soo is McIntosh, Could Sweeney take him? Light Heavy Weight is one of the weaker divisions at the moment and the pick of the field is Luis Garcia for me, is their any join if our adopted son gets a title. He needs a support base and following to get his shot but the boy is a serious talent.

Wondering how good a card Dolphil are going to line up for us. Details are slow in coming. What are the chances of seeing Tyson Fury in a serious fight in front of an Irish Audience, he must be an attraction for the coming years. Tickets booked, hotel got, I,m on my way. Hoping for a great irish day.

That ***** conor lenihan on again tonite, reckon he has 3 stone on me but would happaly get in a ring with him right now.

The need for sporting heros has never been greater, there would be no beter story than Case

To the brave and the faithful, nothing is impossible.

    I'm a believer.
