Carl going for the body from the off and puts Watson on the backfoot. The occasional jab upstairs mixed in before going back to the body with hooks. Watson trying to keep his guard tight and land the occasional counter. Waton aiming for the body as well as Carl has made it an inside fight. Watson has quite a substantial height and reach advantage but he's not being able to use it. Clear Johanneson round. Watson is very stiff and upright.
Wouldn't mind Johannsen v Mitchell II this year at 135. :yep I reckon he still has enough to give Mitchell another good fight, first one was great action.
Derek Roche will be good for most lads...watched his footwork video's and he will help a plodder like Carl.
Round 2..More of the same from Carl. Don't think Watson actually has a game plan here. Carl keeps bombing forward, head down and then the hooks on the inside. Watson hasn't really being hurt though. Carl is finding it so easy to back Watson up to the ropes and the occasional Watson punches have nowhere near enough on them to deter Carl. Some lead right hands from Johanneson towards the end of the round - one straight which he was overstretching with a bit and then a looping one. 2-0 Johanneson.
Watson should be deducted a point for them shorts.....you gotta love a fighter with a nickname that is way off! ''Razor''
Be interesting to see if he can keep this pace going. Quite impressive how hard working and hungry he is here.
Round 3...better round for Watson. He's bouncing around the ring, slips a few punches and then comes back but Carl keeps comnig forward. Watson needs to be more busy and earn Carl's respect. As Watt says Carl has being "relentless". Watson doesn't have the power to trade with Johanneson and doesn't have the mobility and jab to keep Carl off him. Joe Gallagher at ringside with Crolla...looks to be telling him how to fight Johanneson 3-0 Carl
