Maybe George can punch more with a prime Holyfield. He's quicker too. I'd still probably lean towards holy on points but wouldn't be suprised if Foreman stopped him late.
I'm leaning towards a mid to late rounds stoppage. The one thing I gathered from their fight in 1991 was that Foreman was far to slow to get the job done. Yes, he was more mature and more patient but I get the impression that if that was a younger Foreman in the ring with him, they wouldn't have made it to the 10th round. Holyfield is hard to bet against because he has a tendency to fight up and down to his level of competition, but I'm leaning towards Foreman on this.
I'm not betting on Holyfield fighting a disciplined, smart fight. He stood in front of Bowe, he'll stand in front of Foreman. Foreman TKO6.
foreman easily.he still gave holyfield trouble when they did fight .imagine that fight 20 years earlier
The Holyfield of the Dokes fight wins this. Holy was VERY elusive when he was in his prime (not the Holy that liked to brawl), he could take a punch and could punch fairly well himself. He had too much heart to STAY on the canvas. If Lyle can get up that many times against Foreman, so can Holy, but the difference is that Holy wouldn't get tagged that often. Holy's conditioning is also FAR superior to prime Foreman. Holy would tire Foreman out and would take the decision. Holyfield UD15 Foreman.
Holyfield was a skilled fighter, but he had a tendency to get into brawls. The 1991 Foreman was too slow to capitalise on this, but the 1973/74 model would n't have the same problem. George wins this within the five round limit.
Holyfield wouldn't have lived with the young George Foreman - no way. Holyfield had to keep on the move against the 42 year old fat old man Foreman who could barely keep upright when he was swinging his big ones - if Holy had've stopped even that Foreman would've crushed him - the young Foreman would make him crumble just like he did Norton - the young Foreman would have the balance (that the old George was devoid of), the speed (that the old George was miles behind in), the youth and vitality - the sheers meanness, agression and disdain for anyone and Holy would get steam rolled - the young Holy couldn't even seem to hurt or really put a dent in the anchient Foreman - there's no way he'd be able to stop the young George Foreman coming at him and he'd be coming much much much more aggresively.
I will take Holyfield to stop Foreman late. In the early rounds Evander will be on his toes bouncing in and out using his much faster hands to tag George and get away before getting tagged with more then one big shot. George will have his moments early but I think Holyfield will get through the early Foreman storm and wear him out down the stretch, young Holy could fight all night long and he will stop Foreman who will be exhausted after about 5 rounds of relentless stalking looking for the bomb and trying to take Holyfields head off.. If Foreman lands the perfect shot and freezes Holy then he would score the KO I just see Evander fighting the perfect fight and winning late!!
If Holy makes it past the 7th then I favor him. I doubt he does so overall I favor prime Foreman. He could fight smart like he did in the second Bowe fight but if he trades too much with a younger, loves to bust his load early prime Foreman then Holy gets stopped. Even against Bowe in the second fight he still went to war so I strongly feel that a young George stops a prime Holyfield.
I personally would have thought two of those four options would have been ruled out. Namely Holyfield winning by KO and Foreman winning on points. I personally think in his prime Foreman would have gotten the KO unless he tired himself out.
