If only Edwin Valero was alive, he'd be steamrolling these fighters at 135/140...

What have you been smoking? Valero had done nothing to show that he would do any of that. His best opponent Mosquera, would have also gotten beaten down by Soto at 130. Valero has one decent name on his resume. If he had of had the balls to actually fight some real competition instead of fighting damn near all bums, stiffs, garbage men, street vendors, etc. he may have been able to show us that he was really the goods. He didn't though. He fought nobody of note to be calling for big fights. Earn your keep. Devon Alexander would have beaten the crap out of Valero. Valero and Soto would have been a good action fight. I won't say Valero would have beaten Soto, as he hadn't fought anybody good enough to make me even think of a comparison.

He's been "playing possum" at 135lbs, cause he's trying to lure in JMM, MAB, EM, Pac into fighting him.
If Soto shows his fierce style at 135lbs he wont get the big fights, and everyone will continue to duck him.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Urdu shuffle..hahahahaha

Valero had very good work rate plus his power was great..maybe not the one punch affect as he went up but still enough to shake them up.

Its a shame we didn't get the prescott v edwin fight..

I had to join in on this one, yes Valero didn't have the 'names' as you would suggest, however, he was on the way up and just about to make his mark, having said that he fought and beat Pitalua in 2 rds and despite having a horrific gash/cut caused by an elbow he schooled DeMarco, infact put DeMarco's career on the back foot, to begin with, much like Pacquiao, Valero was all explosive going for the KO, but his latter fights he showed great improvement as boxer/fighter, I believe his defense was also improving. In my very humble opinion Valero was the real deal no doubt, with som e fine tuning he would have been the 'Next Big Thing' no doubt, it's a shame and tragerdy for all involved that he was taken away from us Boxing fans.

Check out the documentary in which Valero is sparring with Antillion I believe, both wearing head gear Valero nearly KO's him with one counter punch, the sparring had to be stopped! That's with head gear!

I have the full Documenatry, but here's a link to part 2 from youtube, try and watch it all (part 1 and 2) as it's a very good doc, to get straight to the Antillion sparring session, watch it from around 2.55,

I agree that he had not proven himself at that stage of his career, I mean you are unproven until you do, but I firmly believe Valero would have had no trouble in proving himself in the Ring!!

Valero turned him down, just like he didn't want to fight Soto. Valero hadn't beaten anyone of note recently, but said he only wanted big name fights? You have to prove your worth. Fight other dangerous opponents. Time and time again Valero found ways not to fight Soto.

Not going to say he would've steamrolled everyone, or even beat them all, but it would've been damn fun to watch. Miss Valero the boxer, not the headcase...

Valero would have certainly stopped Prescott, but that means nothing.

    Prescott sucks.

The only top 5 light welter that Valero would have stood a chance against is Kotelnik, the rest put down one sided beat downs.

We definitely would have been seeing Valero vs Pacquiao instead of Margarito if he was alive. Bob Arum was very eager of getting them both in the ring together.
