BOXER Danny Green says he has not ruled out retirement after a health scare that could have cost him his life.
Despite ambitions to fight again, the West Australian champion is focused on a return to good health rather than good paydays.

"I lost 11kg after my 10-day stint in hospital," Green said.

"They cut out an abscess the size of a softball. They took my appendix out at the same time.

"If the abscess had burst it could've been quite serious, like dead serious.

"At one stage I didn't defecate for some eight days. I'm still massively underweight. I have only put on one kilo since leaving hospital and that includes eating large meals daily.

"My weight plummeted to 76.5kg and I normally step on the scales at 88.

"I haven't been this thin since I fought Mundine and I even said to my son I reckon he could've pushed me over I was so thin."

His brush with death has thrown one of Australia's most loved boxers into disarray.

"My surgeon Dr David Cook said my situation was bizarre and that he'd never seen anything quite like it before," Green said.

"After six days of this crap in my stomach, I wanted to jump out of the hospital window. I even said I didn't care if he opened me up from neck to groin, I just wanted this stuff out of my system.

"But I am thankful for one thing that he didn't actually open me up, because I told him it would ruin my boxing.

"If he did (open me up) it would be very hard to go back to the sport."

The 37-year-old faces the toughest battle of not only his career, but his life.

"I am pretty determined to get back, but my health is first and foremost," he said

Hasn't been this weight since he fought Mundine? Even his son could've pushed him over :patsch. Still making excuses about the Mundine loss, that loss really haunts the man better known as Danny "Pharlap" Green.

It's like he's trying to say that he fought Mundine at a weight that he never got down to....... arhh Pharlap 90% of your previous Mundine fights were at that weight jerkoff.
