He was 37................. not old, at all, for a heavyweight.

But lets round it off and say 40, shall we? Forty rolls off the tongue easier and takes less effort than having to say thirty seven.

Anyway, there were no excuses of age or being too fat. Lewis was his ususal self when he fought VK.

But he was in with all he could handle.

    End of story.

Yes, it was obvious. So I guess an out of shape Lewis still managed to maintain his stamina longer than Vitali.

To me Lewis was getting stronger and Vitali was starting to fade. The cut just made matters worse.

I don't see what the big deal is. Lewis is a great fighter. There is no shame in losing to him.

So you're basically saying that age makes no difference at all? As for rounding the age off to 40, one fight can age a fighter, so 2 or 3 years is potentially a lifetime. I'm not saying Vitali wouldn't have won a rematch, but Lewis had done enough in his career and the original fight to retire with dignity. No real boxing fan wants to see an any fighter get beaten up and Lennox was getting old and demotivated. It's almost tragic that Vitali's best-known performance will always be a loss but his fans deserve it for constantly disrespecting a proven ATG and a fighter that was even remotely entertaining.

Lewis lost 2 rounds against Vitali, then stuck his thumb in Vitali's eye, then proceeded to lose some more rounds, then somehow won on cuts. It was clear TD victory for Vitali. The ref just did not have the balls to make the call.

Man, please don't even try to debate boxing with me. You clearly have an agenda.

And it's obvious that your bias clears your ability to think objectively. Judging by your responses though, it's doubtful that objective input from you would be worth anything anyway considering your clear lack of knowledge.

It's doubtful that you ever boxed in your life, so you wouldn't be able to tell if a fighter is tired from experience, but in this case it was incredibly obvious.

Anybody who watched the fight could tell that Vitali was desperately holding on a the end of the fight. He was battered. He gave everything he had and couldn't put Lewis down. On top of that, Lewis was getting stronger.

It's demoralzing for a fighter when you hit someone with your best shots, and he's still there growing stronger. Vitali was starting to fade and I would surprised if he wasn't knocked down in the next round.

Lewis took him to a dark room and he was about to close the door.

Lewis was done. Leaning against the ropes, could not even push Vitali back at the end of 6. Yes, Steward told Lewis after 6th that Vitali was still very much in the fight. Just watch the video. It is all there. Then you can go back to your usual routine of watching B fighters putting away C-fighters with off-balance hooks and call that great boxing.

Bring up some threads that I made bashing Vitali Klitschko. You of all people should know that I respect him.

But you're damn right that I have an agenda when it comes to Wlad. I want him to fight Haye. I figure that maybe if I talk enough **** that Chef will get pissed and tell Klitschko that a heap of people think he's a ****in coward.

Unfortunately, it had the reverse affect. Apparently, making threads about how Haye would beat Klitschko made Chef think about his career, and tell Wlad to say, "the hell with Haye."

Look man, I'm just a boxing fan. If people wanna tell me that Wlad can beat any heavyweight in history he's at least gotta prove it against the one guy aside from his brother that can potentially whup his ass.

    Is there problem with that?

Klit fans so are annoying. Your guy had his chance and he got his face messed up by an old man that was already thinking about retirement. If the fight had carried on, Vitali could have been permanently blinded, but I guess you'd rather see that than miss a chance to bask in some reflective glory (if there is such a thing from a loss). He got beaten by a far superior boxer waaaaaaay past his prime, get over it ffs.

Yeah, like Tim Bradley, Sergio Martinez, Lucian Bute, Ward, Mayweather, and Pac, cuz those are the fighters I like to watch.

Lewis was not thinking about retirement. He invented this lie after Vitali fight.
He had grand plans. He was supposed to fight Johnson in June, then Vitali in December, the he was thinking about fighting Byrd to get his title back. Vitali made a correction - he retired Lewis in June.

So what if he did retire Lewis? Are you seriously saying that a 38 year old fighter with a shedload of money in the bank wasn't considering retirement before he fought Vitali? Even if he wasn't considering it, it's no disgrace for Lewis to come to the conclusion that risking his health any further was crazy. I've got a lot of respect for Vitali, but Lewis was the better fighter on the night, and he was the far superior fighter over his career and he fought far superior opponents than Vitali ever has and he prevailed against them all. Vitali had his chance the first time and he blew it. He put up a great fight and without that cut he always had a chance, but Lewis was in a different league at any point in his career. I will never forget that monstrous uppercut he took from Lewis, it would have knocked anyone else outcold, and I mean anyone.

Lewis would have been knocked out in the very next round. He was done for and he knows it. Lewis did not like his badly broken nose either. Vitali does not run out of gas, he never has and probably never will. Lewis has run out of gas more than once.
