To be fair, its 14 fights on a Sunday afternoon card with tickets from 20e for children and 40e for adults.

Bloody brilliant value in my opinion and i am gutted I am going to miss it to be honest.

Its basically an X-Factor audition to see who gets on the Casey bill and a chance to get to see a lot of Irish fighters in action.

There is a piece in the Sunday World today about Duddy. A tabloid special, trying to sensationally reveal or insinuate that Duddy quit boxing because he had a leaky defence (Jaysus well I never....).

He also regales a tale were he interviewed Duddy a few years ago in a bar in New York and reports that at the end of the night Duddy was blocked and couldnt stand and basically inviting the reader to believe that this could be another reason why Duddy didnt (but should have) become a world champion.:nut

I can't argue with the price factor as I agree it is excellent value and the headline is potentially a good fight. My annoyance lies with the fact our prospects will learn nothing from these fights and an afternoon of sparring in the gym would serve more purpose. The British journeymen (Greaves, Thorpe etc.) are usually available within a few weeks notice and they are much more capable of teaching the Irish lads a thing or two - probably a bit pricier but worth their salt at the end of the day. Maybe I am looking into this too much and hopefully when some of the lads box on the Casey bill, the opposition will be better. :good
