Among the things that Moonves ultimately promised were 1) advertising spots and live cutaways during the NCAA men’s basketball championship tournament and other CBS Sports programming in April and the first week of May, 2) a four-part countdown series, with either the first or last episode airing on CBS in prime time on a Saturday night, 3) appearances for pay-per-view undercard fighters (such as Christy Martin) on CBS talk shows 4) a May 1st 60 Minutes segment following up on the Pacquiao feature that aired last March, and 5) hosting the CBS Morning Show in Las Vegas on Monday through Friday of fight week.

In sum, the move to Showtime isn’t simply about choosing one pay-per-view platform over another. It’s about getting the broadest possible exposure for Pacquiao!!!!

Yeah I was too and I must say, HBO seems to be ****ing up really badly in this one. If this is successful, HBO could lose BIG! We'll have to wait and see I guess.

While Arum becomes more creative in marketing boxing to the general public, Al Haymon promises more Beyonce and Chris Brown bookings for HBO lol.

This is make it or break it for top rank. I doubt you see another top rank fight on HBO after the donaire fight. No matter how it goes. This will be good for boxing. Will shake up HBO. New fans will get expose to boxing.

I'm envisioning a 60 Minutes rerun of the Pac interview during buildup to the fight. This time, they'll add more Pac material to that show and just cut off the Obama segment.

Very good news for boxing that will hopefully attract new fans. Although the relationship between Arun, HBO and GBP doesn't look good and thats a negative for the sport.

I've read news that Senator Reid may just have Pac meet Obama. That would make Obama the 2nd American President that Pac has met.

That's great news. I would love to see boxing get back on network TV. The exposure is just unbelievable compared to cable channels. This is a huge difference between boxing in the past and boxing today... so many people had name recognition and gained star status because they were fighting on Network TV.

“A ‘Hail Mary’ pass might work when you’re down by six points at the end of the game,” one source who was following the negotiations noted, “but it won’t work if there are ten seconds left on the clock and you’re behind by three touchdowns. What’s HBO going to do? Offer Bob a 36/7?”

    lol 36/7...funny!
