Okay, says the guy who falls over himself and sometimes misses his heavybag he is so off balance
If you're off balance when you're shadowboxing trust me, you need to work on your balance. Once you find your balance your feet will be in the right place and everything will be aligned correctly.
I think that's a mistake the majority of people make, they want to adjust things like feet position and because they're not looking at the root problem (balance, posture) the problems don't go away, the fighter feels uncomfortable due to incorrect body mechanics and may even have another 'technical' problem take the place of the incorrect foot position problem.

    your wrong.

some one with good balance could easily move back and to the left by stepping back with the right and mid step moving your left foot.

    this is bad foot work.

if this person gets stopped by a jab and unable to move their other foot they are caught off balance because they relied on their balance instead of good foot work.

some one with good foot work can easily move back and to the left by pivoting their left foot then moving their right.

    this is good foot work

if this person gets stopped by a jab all they have to do is put their right foot down where ever it is and they are still balanced.

good balance does not make for good foot work. good foot work ensures there will allways be good balance.

I think footwork is what you describe it as, but what you call a skill I call balance. If you can maintain good balance and posture when you move you can do those things without thinking about it, then it's just a matter of knowing when to do those things, that would be ring iq. If someone doesn't keep balance they can practice all the footwork drills in the world but they'll never be able to apply anything in the ring.

Alright, whatever works for you. But from your videos it seems it's not working for you, and Thats before you even step in front of an opponent.

once you understand the science behind proper foot work everything becomes clear.

do you know why when you move forward why you step with the front foot first? or like when you move to the left you step with the left foot first?

or is that just how you naturally move when your balance and posture is correct? LOL

LOL....your all the same person arnt you...lol

i cant believe i actually had respect for you.......what are you some mma gym trainer guy that tries to coach boxing in an mma gym or something?

soo when you move to the left you step with your right first and completely cross up your legs?

or when we move forward we all step with the back foot squaring up first and then step with our front foot returning to proper stance.

all this **** about balance and posture your nothing more then a glorified sports therapist.... did, or do you even box pro or amateur?

 No, what I say shows that I have a decent understanding of boxing. What you say shows that you have no clue, then your garage boxing video makes it painfully clear that you don't know the first thing about boxing.

what you say shows you know about physical training for strength specific sports like wrestling and lifting.......nothing about endurance based sports that require skills like boxing.

ok soooo what does he do.....first off hes south paw so proper foot work is still the same move to the right right foot first move to the left left foot first. at 8 seconds he thorws a right straight and has his right foot planted while throwing it as he throws the right straight his left foot comes off the ground and moves to the right (keep in mind his left is still planted and does not move) at this moment he is off balance due to bad foot work and is hit and falls.

he should have moved his left foot first as he moved to the left as proper foot work defines. see how his back leg collapses. if his feet were further apart by stepping with his left first as he moved to the left he would not have falled. the video only re-enforces my definition of proper foot work whiel it continues to show that you have no clue of the sweet science.
